Lefleurs Bluff is right off the 55 Freeway and was a convenient place for us to stop for a night on our way from New Orleans to Memphis.
Check-in is officially at 4p, but it wasn't a problem when we arrived at 2p. The ranger at the front was friendly and waved us in when we told him our name and the site number we reserved.
There was a car in our site when we pulled up, but our neighbors quickly moved it and joked that they thought they could have 2 spots.
Our campsite backed up against the water. I would recommend trying to get a lake-side site, they're much nicer than the interior sites, many of which are next to swampy water.

Woodsy parking area on a lake near many things in Jackson. The park is very busy, lots of traffic coming and going. Sites were ok, but nothing special. The facilities were very old and not in the best of shape and not very clean. The laundry machines were also broken. There is a big bonus to the park that would bring us back again. It is on the nature trails of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. There are about 2 miles of very well marked trails. Plus you get to walk through the fabulous museum with tons of science exhibits, animals and history of the area. There are also many local restaurants and about any main stream shopping you might need very near by. We enjoyed the Fondren area very much.

If I ever go to Mississippi again, I would stay here to pass through. The park is an urban park, and better than some urban parks. Originally we were in site 6, a horribly un level site that may have blown our electric system. The staff was nice, and we moved to site 21 after one night. It is spring break in Mississippi, so we were lucky to move. Actually site 21 was better, as we had to Work on the rig to figure out if we could keep camping with electric.
Our dates were 3/14/2017 to 3/172017.
The bathrooms were grooty, the washing machines broken, lots of stuff out of order. At least 25% -40% were permanent residents, you need reservations. The dump was very far away, at the park entrance, a half a a mile, so you better be able to pull your grey water blue tank.

It's quite possible this place blew my surge protector. Been Rving for 2 yrs and never had an issue with my surge protector until here. The protector reported issues on the 50 amp and said 1 of the lines was not working. I called the office and they didn't seem to care. Said no one was there to look at it and I could move if I wanted to. I decided to just use the 30 amp side and that as fine the rest of the week. Next place I ended up, my surge protector wasn't working. I had to go buy a new one. So take that with a grain of salt.
The location to Jackson was great. The campground itself was very outdated. The women's bathroom has 3 stalls, 2 of which the doors don't work and 1 the toilet barely flushes. The shower pressure was great but the stalls were disgusting. Washing machines were out of order and about 20 yrs old.
The lake was pretty and there was good hiking. There are a lot of permanent residents here but their sites and RVs were well kept so no issues there.
Cell service was good. ATT and Verizon were both over 20mb d/l speeds without a booster. Didn't try T mobile. Good OTA channels.
Dog friendly with good walking areas.
Trash was not convenient. 1 dumpster at the front of the campground so that was a long walk if you were towards the back.
This area gets swampy during rains so some sites on the lake get pretty wet.
I would not stay here again simply because of the out dated conditions and the power issue.

Old, poor condition, sites unlevel, electrical pedestals in poor condition with faulty breakers and missing doors. We would have left but it was late and we were tired and only staying one night thank goodness!! Location is about the only redeeming quality this place has going.

A friend and I stayed in a tent on the primitive sites. We showed up around 1 in the morning and the whole area was clear. We found a good spot near a fire pit. In the morning we found that there were several little fire pits in the area. It was quite serene if you don’t mind the noise of a nearby railroad.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend while attending the Celtic Fest in Jackson and we can't wait to stay at this lovely state park again. We arrived a bit late (6pm) after the office had closed, but they were very accommodating and arrived to let us in the gate within 5 minutes...which wouldn't have been necessary if I'd remembered to print out the information with the access code for the gate. The sites are spacious and access roads are clear and easy to navigate in our 31' Shasta Cheyenne. The restroom/shower house is large and clean, and the camp sites are clean/tidy and have picnic tables, fire pits, and grills as well as water and electric hookups and plenty of shade trees and a couple of fishing docks/piers nearby. We didn't bring any fishing gear, but we will next time. There is a dump site on the way out and a dumpster for trash before you get to the tank dump. Overall, we were very happy with our experience at LeFleur Bluffs and have no complaints.

We stayed here during a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm threat! We didn’t get much wind but were evacuated in early morning by park rangers due to flooding.
Site is on a lake so lots of water around! We stayed in #13 which was right next to the elevated bath house.
Bath house was adequate but not 5star worthy!
Electric (30 amp) was fine. Spaces were a bit tight in getting into but level enough with a cement slab.
Staff was very nice and Verizon was Lte 2 bars

We found this campsite by chance as we were passing thru the area on our way home from California. I wish we could have stayed longer because it was fantastic. Level concrete pads, water & electric and cheap. Very peaceful sites next to a nice lake. I would highly recommend this park.
