Alakazam Comics

Marco Davanzo started Alakazam! Comics in 1999. He had just acquired an MBA degree from U.C. Irvine and was looking for a business opportunity where he could work for himself. He bought the contents of a local comic book store - Planet X - that was shutting down and started his new store in the same location. In 2001, We bought the contents of another local comic book store that was shutting down - Halley's Comics. We opened the store three blocks away from the old store. Alakazam! Costa Mesa was born.In 2005, Alakazam! Comics started an Internet presence by selling through ebay. In 2008, we closed Alakazam Costa Mesa and merged the inventory and customer base into our Irvine Store
