The Choate Cabin Museum located in Indianola is listed on the National Register of Historic Place and was built in 1897 by George Washington Choate. Choate served as Judge of Tobucksy County and was the last President of the Choctaw Senate before Oklahoma Statehood. The double log cabin with dogtrot features a Heritage Room with furnishings from 1689-1889, a Territorial Room with furnishing from 1889-1907, and the Choate Family Legacy Room.The Choate Cabin is located on the grounds of the Bynum Family Homestead and will celebrate its 150 th Anniversary in 2017.
