The only trees are small and alongside the creek. Mixed results for fishermen. No guard or camp host on site. Okay for a few nights against the mountain. Beware the power lines can induce a current in the metal siding of the RV or truck. Do not camp directly under the power lines. Other areas are okay.

This really is a lovely spot just a short distance from HWY 395; perfect for our journey home. I do not understand why the previous reviewer said he paid $0.00 because it is 14.00 and does not allow any discounts , not even our Passport America pass. This is an Into County campground.
There are about 36 sites and they look very easy to access; there are some in which you create your own pull through. Bring cash for the machine because our credit card did not work. Some sites are " walk in" and not redeemable. There does not appear to be a camp host but one of the sites said reserved, so we parked in one that did not say reserved.
There are nice trees with a small creek running through, quiet, no highway noise. We were here in mid October on a Monday night.

We stayed here a few years ago in cold early March & loved it! The sites are just random park near a picnic table type of sites on the South side of the creek. Nice views of the mountains - quiet, peaceful and the creek was just lovely. All dry camping.

Got in pretty late but woke up to an amazing view of the mountains, surrounded by lots of trees. Spots were decently flat and the bathrooms were nice and clean! Definitely would stay again if we had the chance.

We were headed south to Lone Pine and Tuttle CG (Alabama Hills), but stopped when we saw smoke that turned out to be from a wildfire on the Whitney Portal Road. Pulled in here for the night instead of going further. Variety of size sites, all are flat and easy to get into-many you just pull up alongside a picnic table. A few towards the west end of the CG required backing into and probably better for vans and tents. We stayed in a wide-open site right alongside the small creek. Potable water available to fill water jugs and bottles but not RV tanks. Cost was $14/night, no discounts as this is a county park. The credit card kiosk was working when we were there. Sites can be reserved on reserveamerica, so check to be sure the site you choose doesn’t have a reserved sign on it for the night(s) you want to stay—weekends seemed to be reserved more than weeknights.

Stayed one night midweek, it was super quiet and clean, with no more than four other campers/RVs on site. Spot 21 had tree shade and no other campers nearby. There’s also some nice trails for stretching the dog’s legs or just taking in the views. Easy access around a mile off the main road.

We were here in May. It was near the power lines which made it interesting but we became used to the crackling. Some people who fished walked right thru our site and our dogs didn't appreciate it.
This is an awesome place if you want to go quading, biking, etc. for those who don't fish. Most people drove thru it slowly but you always seem to have the individual who thinks that because they paid their taxes that the rules don't apply to them.
