Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on June 13, 2023Eagle Rock Campground offers easy access to the North Umpqua River and scenic vistas of some outstanding rock formations. Eagle Rock, for which the campground is named, and Rattlesnake Rock tower above the campground. The site is adjacent to the Boulder Creek Wilderness. Facilities include well water with hand pump (iodinated), fireplaces, gray water waste sump, and garbage containers.
This campground is one of several Forest Service campgrounds along the scenic Umpqua -Rogue Hwy. We reserved a site to be sure to find something since many of the campgrounds are small and it’s summer. This campground is right off the road and we could see the road from our site. However, it’s not that busy at night and the river is sooo loud that if really didn’t distract. Most sites are on the river but not sure of access for some of them. Our site was 13 on the end and fairly private with lots of vegetation between. Most sites were shaded. Many people leave during the day to recreate in the area. Crater Lake NP is close by as well. We could get down to the river fairly easily and enjoyed our private beach as we watched the many birds and occasional white water rafters float by! If you kayak or raft there are many places along this highway to put in including in the campgrounds. This campground did not have water but it did have toilets. A rig larger then 25 feet may have some problems in this campground.

We were in site 18 and had plenty of room but did struggle to get level as the pad was anything but level. There are several sites that would fit a 30" TT and many were open on the Friday night when we arrived. There is some traffic noise, and it dies down in the evening. No water at this CG or anywhere near that we could find. We did have some good solar gain in our site, but many have heavy tree cover. Also no cell coverage here or anywhere near here. Still nice to be off the grid.

Sites 1-13 in the East loop are right on the river and a little further from the road, so quieter. In mid-June, nearly all sites were reserved for the weekend but the loop was only half full during the week. More tents than RVs - Yay! - and very quiet except for a little road noise during the day and the murmuring sound of the river at night.
Site 13 has the best river access and a great view of Eagle Rock. Sites have fire rings but given the hot, dry conditions most campers did not build a fire.
Be aware that there is no drinking water source here, so bring your own or treat the river water.
This is a good location for touring the area's many waterfalls or for anglers.

We have a 27ft Airstream. We had reserved site 11 and maybe others could get in there with a 27ft trailer but we could not. There is just very limited maneuver area and the campground road is very narrow. We were lucky that the whole campground (except one site) was unoccupied so we were able to get into site 16, a pull through. I think it was the only one that was possible for us. Well, we did get into 13 but it was very unlevel and complicated so we found #16. It is a pretty area and the river is right there but the mosquitoes were horrendous. No biking nearby either. I would not stay there again.
Also, be aware that even if you get a 27ft trailer into most of the sites, you have to disconnect and even getting your truck parked on the site without being in the road is difficult. If others are able to camp here in a 27ft trailer or longer then I salute you.
