7024-foot elevation. 15 campsites on beautiful Alturas Lake. Spend sunny summer days fishing for trout, waterskiing, sailing, motor boating, swimming, and picnicking by the lake. A group picnic area is a mile away. Canoeing and fishing on nearby Perkins Lake. Trails at the end of Forest Road 205 lead into the Sawtooth Wilderness. An amphitheater is available for group events or for interpretive programs. Campground is in a mixed conifer setting, and a quiet seating area overlooks the lake.
