We stayed here for a night on our way to visiting Zion National Park and, we love. The view was breath taking, the site was quite and easy to access and pretty leveled. Make sure you find the historic marker sign becasue there is a dirt road previuos to the BLM , That's a private land and you might get confused because of all the RV and camper around there. (They ask people to leave)

We arrived in Zion on June 3, a Monday, hoping for good availability. Most of the spots we had read reviews on were to rutted from the spring rains. Our 35ft 5th wheel has good clearance but most of the roads were beyond what we could get thru. Lots of no camping signs up in spots too because they were recovering from the rain. After turning our 1.5 hour drive from Bryce Canyon into 10 hours of driving around trying to get a spot we settled for hurricane cliffs spot #1. It had the space for our rig and was right off the road so we could pull in and get out easy. Scouted other areas but really found nothing available, and it wasn’t due to the huge crowds Zion gets the spots just couldn’t be accessed so hopefully gets better as summer rolls in. The spot itself was trashed. Lots of glass, lots of nails, and other garbage all around. Like I said it was spot #1 so right of main road and that was busy/dusty most of the day. No to bad at nite but most everyone who did drive by also did at very fast speeds. About 20min to the Zion entrance and 10 minutes from the town of hurricane that had food, gas, splash park for kids(it got to triple digits) and dump station for free at maverick station. The road to site was good just very washboard. When accessing from hurricane it’s only about a mile and a half down dirt road. Got 3 stars for the trash and the dust, but did have good views and access to Zion and hurricane. Would hope that it gets better after the spring rains but some of the roads looked in need of serious repair for big rigs to make it down. It was right by the trial head for the jem trail that was an amazing bike ride and maybe worth the stay alone.

The sites are on a plateau with gorgeous views, gorgeous sunsets and even better views of the night sky. The hill climb out of Hurricane is pretty steep. Not horrible, and you'd have to make the climb if you were going to Kanab, Page, or Lake Powell.

Climb the hill, go about a mile, and you will see the road on the left. It was *really* washboarded when we first got there. After we'd been there a week, a grater came through and knocked the tops off of them making the road nearly plate smooth. Nice. Follow the road back about a 1/2 mile and you will see the first road on the left. I am a 43' toy hauler and no problems at all. But to be clear, I could only take spot #1. Any further back the roads were incredibly rutted. There are folks back there with smaller rigs and tents, but not me. My closest neighbor was a couple hundred yards away.

The views were spectacular. You are surrounded by hills and bluffs. This is dispersed camping - no water, power, sewer, nothing. There is a dump/fill station at the Maverick in Le Verkin (not the one in Hurricane).

Lots and lots of bicycles out. Lots of trails. I've seen a handful of atvs, but nothing obnoxious.

The bad. Since I'm in spot #1, I am right next to the dirt road. Folks go *flying* down the road, leaving a jetstream contrail of dirt in the air behind them. There is dirt *everywhere* It is always suspended in the air. The wind can be howling. I'm sitting here now and my 24k pound rig is rocking.

I have been told that if there is rain in the forecast, evacuate. The dirt turns into slippery, sticky, soft mud and you absolutely will not get out.

I would definitely come back for the views and the price. Wouldn't mind seeing a 5-minute rainstorm knock the dust down.

Verizon signal is 4g with 3 bars.

Camping in designated sites only. Except for the fact that many of the access roads are so rutted that they require a high clearance vehicle, this is a great area with awesome views of the Pine Valley Mountains, Gooseberry Mesa, and the outer west wall of Zion. Lots of designated mountain bike trails for all skill levels. The nearby town of Hurricane has nearly everything you need. I was there in early April and felt lucky to get a spot.

I had no problem getting my 30’ fifth wheel trailer into the spot. The main road (Sheep Bridge Road) is a good road. It’s a little washboarded but totally drivable. It’s the side roads that get rutted. There is plenty of room to park the RV and scout ahead. There are a combination of large sites where you could park large rigs and small tent spots. No hookups. Only boondocking.

This area is only 30 minutes away from Zion and several State Parks. Also close to shopping n Hurricane.

Stayed here in the beginning of August when there were excessive heat warnings. The creek was completely dried up and we were able to snag the one single site with a tree. This lone juniper tree was the only reason we were able to survive there. Probably due to the heat we were the only campers out there, only one other car drove in later in the evening. Would not be the most private if there are other campers but it was still beautiful and fun to have the place to ourselves. Sad to have to pick up garbage left behind by others. Let's protect these resources by picking up after ourselves! Bumpy gravel road, but easy access.

We are always a little concerned driving our big Motorhome/pulling a car anywhere. But this was easy to get in and out of when dry. I would worry if it were wet but a great spot even for a big unit in the dry season!

This was my first attempt at dry camping, and it went great! Yes, Sheep Bridge Mountain was rutted, but slow driving was no big deal. I turned off onto the first left towards sites 1-12. I parked at site #2 first then walked over to #3 to inspect (site 1 and 4 were taken already) My trailer is 28 feet long and coupled with my truck, we stretched out almost 50 feet. I saw that I could back into site 3 and still have room for my friends to join me to the side and have room for an outdoor awning and tables. The site was pretty clean, only a few little bits of trash from previous campers and some random deep holes dug into the ground in the far west of the site. Be careful during the night to not fall into a pit. I pulled close to the fire ring and put some leveling blocks on the west side. It was enough to keep everything nice and level. I fit perfectly with nothing sticking into the road. Further up the road has deep winding ruts. Dusty? Very much so. Every driver that passed by was respectful and slowed down to keep the dust down, but it’s inevitable. The red dirt is like confectioner’s sugar... super powdery!! It gets everywhere. My recommendation would be to make sure you bring a tarp, ground mat... something to help keep the dust out of your van, trailer, motor home etc. There was a slight breeze and warm during the day, perfect sleeping temp at night, in the 40’s. Convenience is that Hurricane is a 5 minute drive down the hill. Free dumping in La Verkin or head out to Apple Valley for a fee. It was a quiet and peaceful night and close to Gooseberry Mesa, which is where we rode. The JEM trail is all around you as well. You can definitely hear the traffic on the highway, loud engine noise travels far from trucks heading up from Hurricane. Neighbors were all quiet though.

We spent a night here on 10/14/20 and would come back to camp while mountain biking in the area. It was very dry, think moon dust dry, and a bit windy but the views and trail access were outstanding. Sheeps Bridge Road was in great shape, however, the road past site 3 was a rutted mess. Definitely a place to stay away from when it's wet.

Site 3 is relatively level and we parked facing north to take advantage of the sunset view of Zion NP to the east.

Mountain bike trail access is super convenient from any site here. Many trails are just a few minutes of riding from the site.
