“worlds tallest statue of an American Hero”
A Tribute to Courage the Sam Houston Statue was designed and constructed by artist David Adickes. He dedicated the statue to the City of Huntsville on October 22,1994. It is the worlds tallest statue of an American Hero at 67 feet tall on a 10 foot sunset granite base.
There are restrooms and a gift shop not much else though
Hard to miss from the side of the highway. There's not much to see if you stop, but there is a nice little gift shop. And hey, it is right by the side of the highway, so if you're not in a hurry, make the stop!
This is a huge monument...a must see on a Texas trip
It's a good place to stop and stretch your legs.
