Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 28, 2019We are headed from here to do some camping without services, so we wanted to be sure to have electric and water for these two nights. This is a well kept up and clean campground. There is lots of space, grass for the dogs, we are right on the waterfront, a nice picnic table with a fire pit beside it, a flat paved pad -- we can't really think of anything to criticize. Huntington has a very basic grocery store, and we were able to pick up some supplies. It's the start of a beautiful scenic drive, so we spent the day photographing and hiking. We took the dogs on a really nice hike/walk at the Huntington Forks Trail (which is out of the Huntington Forks Campground). There are tons of dry campgrounds along the scenic route (Rt 31 between Huntington and Fairview). There's a National Historic Site (a CCC-build ranger cabin) which was closed after Labor Day, and we stopped at the Mammoth site. There's a walk around the lake at the Huntington State Park, and swimming earlier in the season...so in general there is a lot to do around here for such a small town. On our first night, the wind rocked the trailer continuously, but on our second night it had died down. All in all, this was a very pleasant place to stay and worth coming to for a couple of days. It was nearly deserted in mid-October, but might be busy in the summer.

We stayed here one night mid May and liked it a lot. We were near the lake which was great. There is grass and some shade and there is a road around the lake (about 4 miles) that’s great for walking the dog. I would not want to stay a week here but it’s nice for just a quick night.

We stayed Tue & Wed so there were only a couple other rigs in the whole place. I'm sure the weekends would be a different story but we loved the quiet! The reservoir is a beautiful blue color, maybe due to mining run-off but it sure was pretty. Clean bathrooms and showers but SCALDING HOT!!! No joke, I love a hot shower and intended to wash my hair but couldn't......it was too painful!! Flat sites with plenty of space between you and your neighbors. We biked around the water, even let the dogs in for a nice swim :D There is a boat launch with small marina. We really enjoyed the packards around pointing out the wildlife in the area & local history. A lovely little campground and we'll stay there again if we're in the neighborhood.

This is a small park of 25 sites, and most of the sites offer water and electric (both 30 and 50 amp) at $25 a night with a three FHU sites at $28 (add on an $8 per transaction fee for any sites booked online). The sites are paved and fairly level, though some drop off in the back (if you are concerned with opening a toy hauler) and most offer quite a bit of privacy. The pull through sites are actually just pull-off to the side sites, and while they would be fine for a small trailer (particularly one without slides), a larger RV is going to block the road. There is an easily accessible dump station with both rinse and fill water, dumpsters, and the park host is very nice and helpful. The lake is beautiful and a 2.5 mile path wraps around it.
There are 2 back-in sites that have the power pedestal and water on the passenger (wrong) side of the site, all the way in the back corner, and I unfortunately picked one (#17) of them when I made our reservation. We tried to balance being able to open our garage (slope grass behind our site) with reaching the power box (our power plugs in on the front driver's side), which was more challenge than we were hoping for. My only other sort-of complaint is that this park is always full on the weekends, and it's chaos.... there aren't just 2 people in a site, there is usually an entourage along with all the pets (it's just more than we're used to). That said, we liked it enough that we've already booked here again.
Both T-Mobile and Verizon worked well, didn't even use the booster.
UPDATE: As of 2020, they increased rates by $5 (W/E $30, FHU $33), and despite arriving during their FCFS season (October 1 -), we were asked to pay the $8 admin fee. A couple of other observations of note: The road noise seemed louder and more consistent this trip (slept with our sound machine), and many of the water spigots leak and spray water while in use (not a big deal, but also less than ideal).

This is a very nice, quiet little park. The back-in slots are VERY spacious (wide), and the amenities (hook-ups) worked. From what I saw, only a few sites had full hook-up (W/E/S), while the remainder WITH hook-ups only had W/E. The camping loop and sites are all paved and level. The view of the mountains were nice, and the reservoir (although low from drought) had adequate water level to allow boating and swimming. Wildlife waterfowl were a treat to observe AND hear. Noise from nearby road has traffic from sand & gravel site, which can become noisy at times, as well as noise from main highway just to the east. Staff was friendly and helpful. Checkout time is very generous (2 PM). I would recommend for a pleasant stay.
