Tent camped one night here. Got here at night was one of three campers. It’s the big gravel area right before the paid campground. Beautiful spot by river but the bugs were SO bad. Must have just hatched or something so make sure you’re set up before nightfall bc that’s when they come out. Heard owls and coyotes. Beautiful starry sky at night. Outhouse on site. Wasn’t too noisy, just the occasional car driving by. Didn’t notice any trash.

My family pulled into Hwy 201 BLM with a few hours of daylight left. Big open gravel lot right by the Snake River and right by a $Pay$ campground. No 1 else stayed the night while we were there, but there was a small boat in the water that used the public dock on the BLM site. You sleep in Oregon, & look across the river into Idaho. I found out it was Mule Deer season as I woke up to high powered rifle blasts, & possibly black powder, but it didn’t phase my girls as they slept until I got antsy and wanted to hit the road. This BLM will definitely get u a nights sleep, but I wouldn’t plan your whole family vacay there! As an earlier review said, we also found lots of trash, & the vault toilet on site was not the best, but will definitely work in “a pinch”!
It totally depended on where I stood and how I held my tongue on my Verizon service. AT&T won’t get u anything tho!

Convenient location with easy access for big rigs.
There seems to be many permanent residents in the area. The generator noises begins early.
I would stay here again, BUT I would stay further away from the folks needing generators.

Pulled up to stay here, basically just a parking lot by the river. Lots of mosquitos and people seem to be living there long term. Felt out of place and didn’t love the bugs or lack of privacy due to it being a parking lot so I did not stay here. Bathrooms were clean, no service.

We needed a cheap place to stay on our travels back home. This convenient but I wouldn't do it again. There were abandoned trailers and cars on the lot. Trash and garbage all over. You can access the river here but people we fishing here (for catfish) all night. They we quiet and polite but they had their lights going etc. The site was level but goat head thorns everywhere. Further west on I-84 up the hill would of been better as there are 2 rest areas up there on the way to Baker City. I would of been cooler up there as well. It was hot and it did not cool down much overnight.

Local public boat launch on the Snake River with a vault toilet. There is a picnic table and fire ring. There was one RV in the far corner that looked to be vacant. I enjoyed a quiet night; although occasional passing trains across the river. Was really too hot the end of July for van camping, but was convenient along my travels. Sits adjacent to an RV park. Occasional 1 bar of Verizon.

I pulled in late and backed up to the river so I’d have a view w my morning coffee. Residents minded their own and so did I. All peaceful. Great access from 84.

Camped alone. Looks they cleaned up and signs posted that if people aren’t taking care of it they might have to close. Lovely views. Only 2 miles from 84. Worth the little drive off the main route for a peaceful night on the Snake River.
