What can I say. Yes it’s a parking lot. But to be on the beach to see the sunset. Awesome. You have shops and places to eat within walking distance. At night there are fire pits on the beach you can use. We were fortunate that we had a small rv so we were along the fence looking out over the beach

This is a city park which is located at the surfing capitol of the world. First the good news: There is one row of back-in sites right against the fence and if you want to be here, this is the best place to try for. The views are spectacular and the beach is amazing. The bike path is right here and easy walk to great places to eat. There is ample parking for campers.

Then the other news: It's a parking lot so the sites are very close together and folks will walk right through your site if they want to. Got to lock up bikes and anything that you might want to in order to help keep folks honest. It's the city so this isn't a place to come for quiet and solitude.

You can't beat camping here as you are extremely close to the water, the boardwalk, Main Street and the newly opened Pacific City.

Downsides: not very clear (it's a public beach; bathrooms are the same that beachgoers use), people can (and will) come up from the beach and walk directly through your campsite, it can be pretty noisy (especially on holiday weekends) and the quiet time isn't usually enforced.

Spots 1-17 are back in and front row to the ocean and beach access.
Site 9 overlooks a trash can so try to stay away from that one if you can.
Our favorite sites are 16 (one off of the handicap ramp) and 12 (near the stairs with easy access to the sand for little kids...but increases the chance of people walking through your site)

The location is great - steps from the sand in Huntington Beach, and a short walk to bars, restaurants and entertainment, including the new Pacific City complex.

There are a few drawbacks: no sewer hookups (but there is a dump station), small spots (looks like a parking lot conversion), and a lot of foot traffic. But these drawbacks are easily outweighed by the great location.

Book early. This park fills up quickly.

It is a parking lot, no problem, the problem is that they just built restaurants and bars across street, the noise is so Bad, that you can not sleep until they close the bars. Music is super loud. Be prepared to use your camping trailer bathroom, the public restroom are really duty. For the $75.00 dollars that they charge they should have private restrooms. Now the view is great, lots of thing to do. But I will not camp again. Sorry.

Great spot for RV camping. Can be noisy with Pacific City and PCH close by but we had our fan running and didn’t hear a thing!

Water and Electrical at each site and dump station available on site. They also have public bathrooms close by.

You can't beat the location, across the walk from the sand. Short walk to the HB pier and Main Street. Lots of activity all day long. Expect road noise from PCH. late in the night you'll hear the crashing eaves (after traffic diminishes) no sewer but has a dump station.

We stayed a couple nights so we could go into LA for sightseeing. It was fun to be right on the beach so we could play in the sand. We rode bikes along the bike path. It is basically a parking lot with lots of RV’s crammed in pretty close together. But the advantage is the proximity to the beach! And it was surprisingly quiet. It was a little tight getting our 40’ fifth wheel in there, but it’s doable. We would stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights to do day of sightseeing in LA. It is basically a parking lot with a lot of RV’s crammed in, but the advantage is its proximity to the beach. And it was surprisingly quiet. It was fun to walk out our door to play in the sand. And we enjoyed a bike ride on the bike path. It was tight getting our 40’ fifth wheel in, but it’s doable. We would stay here again for the beach access & gorgeous sunsets!

Best of all worlds. Proximity to the sand and civilization. The catch is $$ and competitive reservations. Absolutely amazing and worth the effort and money
