The Howell Area Historical Society owns and operates the historic Ann Arbor Train Depot in downtown Howell as a Museum. The Society has preserved and restored the building and is a repository for historical artifacts. The Museum Depot is listed on both the State Register of Historical sites and the National Register of Historic places. The first structure in Howell to be so recognized. An 1888 Grand Trunk Caboose, which sits along side the museum, is currently being refurbished. The Depot Museum has regular hours during the summer months and tours are available by appointment
