“Equipped with a planetarium and butterfly house”
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a science museum located on the northern border of Hermann Park in Houston, Texas, USA. The museum was established in 1909 by the Houston Museum and Scientific Society, an organization whose goals were to provide a free institution for the people of Houston focusing on education and science. Museum attendance totals over two million visitors each year.
No matter how many words someone may try to write, still they won't be enough to fully describe the greatness of this museum which ranks as the top tourist destination in Houston, no wonder why.
So many things to see, so many different exhibits that cover practically everything you may have ever imagined, from Egyptian mummies, to Paleontology, butterflies and insects, even how it feels like to be inside a tornado. Houston Museum of Natural Science is one of the top museum in the world for me with large spaces where you can find way too many exhibits. One day certainly is not enough, you will need at least 4-5 days to fully visit all the exhibits that are professionally organized and structured.
Loads of people complain that Houston Museum of Natural Science is very costly to visit, well it is worth every penny you will spend and you and your family will learn so many interesting information in such a great interactive way, that probably you will gain more knowledge within few days than you could get in a whole semester in college!
I believe that the most economical way is to purchase the duel membership (costs $75 for 2 people) that will give you annual unlimited admission to permanent exhibits at Houston as well as Sugar Land Museum of Natural science, discounted admission to the special exhibits, 10% discount at the Museum Store, parking is $5 (versus $10 with your museum stub), and other benefits.
On the other hand, if you are a family of up to 6 members, then your ideal option is to purchase the family membership ($95 for 2 adults and up to 4 children).
i always enjoy coming here they always have new and interesting exhibits along with imax movies.
Great exhibits for science geeks and the like! We loved the fossils and dinosaurs. The planetarium was pretty neat, too. We spent about 5 hours roaming the exhibits.
I've been twice and I enjoyed myself both times. There is so much to see and experience, especially when new exhibits arrive.
