“popular park in the area”
Tucker Park is located only a few miles south of the city of Hood River and also sits directly on the Hood River itself. This park is probably the most heavily used facility in Hood River County's parks system due to the overwhelming popularity of windsurfing in this area. Tucker Park offers 90 campsites most of which can handle either tents or RVs with 20 partial hookup sites being allocated for RV use only. Tucker Park also offers a day use area with covered shelter for a very nice lunching experience. The close proximity to the Columbia River make this park appealing to those wind junkies needing that adrenaline rush that comes with rocketing their boards across the tops of the white caps.
Fantastic hosts! We rolled in at 7 pm on a Friday night w/o reservations and they helped us pick a site. Family friendly, grassy areas for play, and showers. This is a recreators campground as there is much to do near this area (mtn biking, whitewater rafting, kite surfing, fruit picking etc).
