Simon's Cliff House at the Columbia Gorge Hotel has received an "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator magazine for its extensive regional wine list, representing over 500 of the Pacific Northwest's best wines and wineries.
Our menus reflect a commitment to locally grown, sustainable ingredients from farmers, fishermen, ranchers, cheesemakers, and winemakers in Oregon and Washington. In addition to our wine list, you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Gorge from our dining room.
This historic landmark was built by lumberman Simon Benson in 1920. The mission-style hotel has been brilliantly restored and stands on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River. Our manicured gardens are filled with color and native Oregon plants. You'll find lots of secluded seating perfect for relaxing. Wah Gwin Gwin Falls behind the hotel cascades 208 feet to the river below.
