“A favorite destination for canoeists and kayakers”
A favorite destination for canoeists and kayakers, Blackwater River State Park offers opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities. The river is one of the purest sand-bottom rivers in the nation, making this park a popular place for swimming, fishing, camping, and paddling. Shaded campsites are just a short walk from the river and a picnic pavilion overlooks the river. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy strolling along trails through the more than 600 acres of undisturbed natural communities. In 1980 the park was certified as a Registered State Natural Feature for its exceptional illustration of Florida's natural history. One of the largest and oldest Atlantic white cedars stands among the many that line the river and, in 1982, it was recognized as a Florida Champion tree.

I was a customer in one of the cabins here, I was asleep in bed and a cleaning employee decided to come in on me unannounced and did not knock. I’m highly disgusted with my experience, I will not be back. They gave me a whole hour extra to check out which I should have been entitled to a free night or 2 for the inconvenience and was not… please do not stay here.

Site 11 is a large site and level. It looked like all of the sites were level but some were on the small side. Park is well kept. We would have liked to explore the trails more than we did however the weather prevented us from doing so. The park has beautiful white sandy beached on the Blackwater River. Enjoyed our visit very much and look forward to returning. There is an airport nearby that does helicopter training so we had helicopters flying over the park during the day except on the day that was raining. Very quiet at night. There were a lot of deer and birds. We had weak Verizon cell service.

The park is quite lovely. Site was clean and quite large. No buffer or trees between sites 1,2,3(our spot,)4, and 5. Choose a different site if possible. Bathrooms very clean. The group in site 5 played music that the entire campsite could hear and talked loudly until midnight. Several campers screamed at them to turn off their “ damn” music! We stayed out of it. Though I think a polite request to quiet down might have had a more desired effect.

Only spent one night, but wouldn't mind spending longer. Grills, fire-pits, picnic tables, restrooms with showers.
Verizon none to good.

We arrived here December 1st to start our 4 month volunteering duties.
The Park has 30 sites that are all full hookups, level and stoned pads.
Park, bathhouses, beaches and day use areas are kept very clean.
The Park is about 10 miles in from Route 10 which makes it quite from highway noise.

As a newbie car camper, I didn’t know what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. The site has clean, level gravel and was surrounded by trees which aid in privacy. The bathrooms were very clean which is always huge. The campsite itself has its own private beach area and the trails are fun to explore with boardwalks and offshoots. Great experience!

Check in is phenomenal. Camp hosts are keep everyone safe and all sites are pristine. I was here for 5 days and every site is spacious, clean, and unique. I didn't have to level my rig too much, flat and level. Public facilties are good and clean. Took nice showers with good hot water. Amazing eco system here as well. Explore as much as you can.

This is our first visit to the area and we were blown away at how nice this park is! Only 30 sites in 2 loops, each site featuring FHU with clean gravel, picnic table, fire pit, clothesline, and grill. We stayed in 16 and had a corner spot with plenty of privacy. The hosts pick up trash from your site each morning as the dumpster is located in the day use area around the corner. Aluminum can recycling near the bathhouse is always a great find! The bathhouse was clean and stocked but no AC so a bit warm during our stay. No laundry but we didn’t need it yet so not a concern. The private beach at the river was pretty and the hiking trails were wonderful with lots to look at! Check in was a breeze and the hosts and rangers were very pleasant. One teeny tiny bar on both ATT and T-Mobile hotspot but once the day use closed we were able to stream easily. Several OTA antenna channels available. We had a GREAT time and will be back in the fall!
