Harry McAdams Park Campground

Very nice city park with large spaces (all backin) and trees at most sites. Golf course across the street, empty space at the end of the road (about a 1/2 block) - great for the dog. Quiet; very little traffic except occasional golfers or joggers). The park only had a few visitors when we were there, but it wouldn't have been crowded cheek-to-jowl even if every space was filled.

Ask for the code to the bathrooms! They are locked! While tents are allowed this is designed with the rich RVer in mind. HORRIBLE for tent camping as sprinkler system woke us up at 11:39 PM, and water your tent and therefore YOU. The water smells bad too. Road noise. Don't bother unless you have an RV. Or if you just HAVE to stay in Hobbs, NM cheaply.

WiFi free, but came in too late at 9PM to get the code.

Stayed here after reading other reviews. Chose the location because of the low cost. Absolutely the best value anyone will find for full hookups.

This is a great smaller city park on the outskirts of Hobbs. The town is really bustling with the oilfieds and since this is a no reservation park, we were kind of nervous whether there would be any spots open, but luckily there were quite a few. The campground is just one loop with around 15 full hook up sites and internet. It's adjacent to a park that has a small lake, frisbee golf and across the street is a golf course. The park itself is great, most sites have a covered picnic area, are big enough to hold almost any sized rig, and overall, it's well maintained. While there is not a ton to do in the city of Hobbs (walmart, grocery, casino), if you find yourself in the area, would highly recommend this park!!

Pulled in for a couple days stop on the way to Santa Fe and ended up staying the full term of 14 days! Great spot to catch up on work, save some money and keep the kids entertained. Only $90 a week for full hooks ups! Everything you need in town, large well groomed park with pond, walking/biking trails, Disc golf & golf course, playground and covered picnic tables.

I think this is the best you’ll find in this area. Friendly camp host, quiet and somewhat secluded with little traffic and a distant train. Some sites have covered picnic shelters. The women’s shower could have used pressure washing and a new shower head, but toilets were clean. Wish we had bikes to try out the nice trail.

PRO’s

The park is super convenient to Hobbs, yet quiet. It’s clean, and has all the utilities - water, elec, shower house AND free WiFi, for a great price.

CON’s

The elec and bathhouse require a code. Unfortunately, the only way to get a code is by phone, during office hours. So, no elec, no bathhouse, not a lot of bang for that 18 bucks.

Looks like a great place however it’s closed due to no electricity and possibly Covid. Don’t bother stopping to camp. Nice park though.

Camp is open but with only 50% of sites available due to Covid. Each site has full hookups. Showers very large (only one stall for men and one for women) with nice hot water. Each shower has a long bench on which to place clothes etc but no hooks. Shower and restroom entrance requires lock entry of a 4 digit code. We obtained code from passing maintenance truck. Flat and open with occasional trees.
