“offering a campground gem in Nebraska”
Walgren Lake State Recreation Area is an 80-acre area with a 50-acre lake that offers visitors primitive camping, boating, fishing, and picnicking in a tranquil prairie setting. Its campground is a gem in Nebraska, rewarding visitors with views of gorgeous sunsets over the lake as they settle in for the night. Mature, shady cottonwood trees are scattered throughout Walgren Lake State Recreation Area's 40 campsites. The lake is open for fishing for black bullheads, bluegills, largemouth bass, walleyes, white crappies, and yellow perch, but fishing can become particularly challenging when heavy vegetation grows in the lake in late summer. A rock shelter-house is available at Walgren Lake State Recreation Area on a first come, first served basis, as well as many picnic tables and grills. The area's lake, with a five mile per hour speed limit, features an accessible fishing pier, two boat ramps, and two boat docks. The 40 campsites are primitive style, which have access to drinking water, are non-padded, and have no electricity.

This valve is so peaceful! We were the only one here. Beautiful spot to camp for the night. Bathrooms are decent.
