This is a city-owned, unstaffed RV park with about 15 spaces, some pull-through, some back-end. Drop your check in the drop box, there is no staff on-site. No issues with hooking up.
Beautiful sunsets to be seen here, and you can get a great view of the town park depending on your spot. The town itself is small with very few services, but is a good jumping-off point for Chadron.
Beware, Hay Springs is a small town with a very small number of services, but would still be a perfect overnight or even weekend spot. At the time of our stay, the monthly rate was $250/month, but there was a rumor circulating town that the low monthly rate was going away. Check the sign in the office window for the latest rates.

We were thankful for this spot last night as a last minute stop over as the kids many potty stops prolonged our intended route. But I digress....this spot was decent for $25...full hookups (w/e/sewer), but the grounds need help. Thorny weeds so overgrown it was hard to walk around our rig or eat breakfast out on the picnic table. A broken down, ramshackle motorhome looks to be a permanent fixture with no one living inside. Doesn’t really say “top-dollar establishment.” There is no staff or camp host, so payment is on the honor system. The park across the street does look nice, though, so I suppose if we’d had more time, we could have utilized that. Overall, we slept, we had water and a/c...we are thankful.

This was a gamble since the information is sparse, but it paid off.
$25 per night in a small RV park with about 7-8 spaces. Next to a park and baseball field, in a town with pretty much nothing else. There are a couple RVs that look like they stay here, and it's first come first served. Great inexpensive overnight close to Wounded Knee. 30A & 50A Elec and water hookups, with dump station.
