The Hotel Holly-Haswell Hotel is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. It is privately owned and will be used as a residence, as well as a proof of concept for an affordable housing model, and will provide housing as needed, for people who otherwise have difficulty finding housing, and emergency housing for anyone escaping domestic violence. An outlying building, formerly a gas station, is going to be renovated/restored to serve as a comfort station and campground for bicyclists following the 4600 mile TransAmerica Bike Trail. Planned completion sometime in 2025, and a passing point for the Sand Creek Massacre Memorial Run. The hotel itself is a perfect example of foursquare architecture, which was popular from the late 1800's into the mid 1920's. The hotel itself has been unoccupied since 1994.
