My family comes to Fox Fire frequently. Sometimes just for a long weekend, sometimes over a week. It has always been great. There is some noise from I40, but nothing to disturbing. The RV spots are nice, all have a fire pit & a bench table. There are 3 cabins to rent, as well as lots of tent camping spots down by the river. The campground hosts are right on site in case you need anything. There are some activities close by, zip lining, whitewater rafting, ropes course, and places to hike. Check out AtlasObscura for some interesting things to do! If you want a terrific home style meal, check out Carvers. Gatlinburg isn’t to far away either! Come relax here, you will enjoy it!

Fox Fire Riverside Campground is a spectacular little campground nestled on the Pigeon River on the northside of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For the price, and the spectacular scenery directly on the river, this campground offers a tremendous bang for your buck!
It’s tucked between the Cataloochee Valley and Gatlinburg, so it’s the perfect distance to explore multiple areas of the park during the same weekend.

We stayed here based on the reviews below and the allure of full hook ups for $25. It really is a lovely little campground. The tent sites are along the river and the RV sites are in a small clearing which may sit 200 yards from I-40. The staff is very friendly and the campground is well-maintained and clean. We enjoyed using the pavilion as well. That said, this campground is incredibly loud. It is at the bottom of the hill so all night long there were big rigs blasting their jake brakes. We were also a little disappointed there is no laundry at this park. If you happen to be a little hard of hearing this may be the right spot for you! We had the fan in the camper running all night long to provide a little white noise but it didn’t really help much. I have never noticed a noise problem at any other campground if that is an indication of our sensitivity.

Fox Fire campsite is beautiful given the locations proximity to a national park. I made a video to show what the sites look like. The one downside is that the water was really brown - not just on one spigot but on all the ones I tested. A big plus is the internet was really fast.

We booked an RV site and a cabin in December of 2020 for camping in mid to late May 2021. At that time we were told if we booked six nights we got a seventh night free. We did accept that offer. Approximately 3 weeks prior to our arrival at the campground we verified our dates and reservation one more time. On the morning of what would have been our seventh night, I suffered a stroke while at the campground. At about 10:00 in the morning while we were at the hospital getting stroke care we received a phone call from campground management wanting to know why we weren't packing up and leaving yet. We explained to them we had one more night. They, in no uncertain terms, told us we had to pack up and leave. Our friends who were staying in the cabin were upgraded to the cottage when we arrived for what was supposed to be the same price. They ended up getting charged the full cottage price, but were refunded the difference for only six of the seven nights we were supposed to be there. The 7th was of course to be free. After explaining to management our circumstance from the hospital they said our friends still had to leave their cottage and we would have to move our camper to another site. They had made some kind of booking error, and now wanted us to fix their problem for them. Our friends did end up packing up and they also packed up and hooked up my camper and pulled it home for us. Neither of us received our 7th night free. We ended up finding a disgusting hotel to stay in for our final night. I stayed at the hospital. Their lack of hospitality and flat out rudeness on the phone makes me want to tell anyone to steer clear of this place. If there's any issue you'll be out on your ear!

We stayed a few nights. It was a beautiful campground and had a really pretty creek in the back. Close enough to Gatlinburg and PF without being in the crowds. The staff were nice, there was a good bit of road noise from the freeway, and the water did have a brown color to it. There were both back in and pull thru sites for RVs and on gravel.
You do pass by a white water rafting company before you pull into the park so that activity is in walking distance.
If you don't mind driving about 25 minutes away for BBQ, try out Bustin' Butts BBQ, great tender meat and a special smoked baked potato.

This campground is well maintained right along the river and easy to access. Its also affordable. It had the cleanest campground bathrooms id ever seen and we live in our rv fulltime. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Yes you can hear the highway but from inside the rv we couldnt hear it at all. Good service. We got a pull through site number 3

We spent two nights at Foxfire and enjoyed it completely. The sites along the water are wonderful. The facilities are clean, well maintained, and convenient. There are gas stations nearby, a cafe, and the northern entrance and hiking trails for Great Smoky Mountains National Park are nearby. Serious groceries are available up I-40 in Tennessee near Newport. The only thing I would modify would be to move the interstate a few hundred more yards away--the sound of the trucks on the interstate can break through the calm of the river rolling past.
