Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on January 18, 2022Jack's Canyon is a favorite climbing area of ours, but this was our first time visiting with the 27-ft Airstream. Going slow on the chunky road got us in just fine. It's really unique to be able to post up this close to the climbing areas: literally 10 minutes out our door.

Mobile service is creeping into Jack's Canyon. Picking up one bar ATT service which could be boosted to a usable signal.

We got halfway through setting up camp when we discovered the campsites are covered with little thorns all over the ground. We are tent camping, and this would have completely destroyed the floor of the tent. Only stay here if you're in a camper, or if you have a hard bottom to protect your tent and your feet. Would not recommend for dogs because of their paws, either.

This is about a mile and a half off the highway. Close the gate. Mostly used by climbers. We were able to manage the rocky road. I would avoid it after it rains. There are many sites here, but they are better suited for car or tent campers. Primitive sites, although there is a pit toilet no trash service.
It is clean. Please keep it that way. No fires.
There is a trail along the ledge, and you can hike down to the bottom of the canyon, but it is steep.
