“Swim, Fish, and Camp”
Rock Crossing Campground is located 2 miles from Blue Ridge Reservoir (also known as C.C. Cragin Reservoir). This narrow, winding body of water looks more like a canyon-bound river than a lake. Nestled between forested canyon walls it provides picturesque water recreation in a secluded, wooded setting. The Arizona Fish and Game department stocks rainbow trout annually and some browns also are present in the lake. There’s plenty of sightseeing, wildlife watching, hiking and mountain biking available here in these canyon-carved uplands. If just talking about all this activity makes you want to kick back and relax with nothing more strenuous to do than watch the squirrels bury pine seeds, then this forested area is probably just the place for you.Group Campouts and Events: This campground does not have facilities for large groups or group activities. If one campsite cannot accommodate your group (eight at a single site, 16 at a double site), please call the Mogollon Rim Ranger District at 928-477-2255 to plan your group camp-out at Elks, Moqui, or Long Valley group campgrounds.

This is a nice campground only a couple of miles off of 87. Sites are nicely spaced with large tent pad, picnic table, grill and fire pit. Can’t beat the price of $20 a day. Some sites are reservable but many are first come first serve. Lots of spaces available during weekdays. Vault toilets and drinking water available. Camp hosts were great - super friendly and helpful, and they gave us lots of maps for the area. Blue Ridge Reservoir is a couple of miles away and is gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again.

Blue ridge reservoir is an awesome kayak/canoe reservoir that's about 7 miles long. It's got beautiful views everywhere. You can paddle down to go cliff diving as well. The campground is 2 miles from the reservoir and first come first serve, no reservations, $8 a night. It would be even better to be closer to the water or see it, but it's still awesome. The campers here are usually respectful of their surroundings so you don't see any trash anywhere. There are vault toilets, water and no other facilities. They are pretty spacious, so you don't feel like you're too close to your neighbors. It gets really busy in the summer, so arriving on a Friday night is not a good idea. However, most of the stretch of road prior to the campground is available for boon docking, so if you don't get a spot you can always boon dock it.
