Must use GPS coordinates to get to the actual park entrance (LAT 39.77409 LON 76.91306). We were able to use our cell phone served by T Mobile, but no WIFI. The biggest problem we had was with the electricity coming off the pole at or below 104 V. The minimum needed is 106 v, so we kept tripping the breaker. This was our first time camping here. There are lots of activities and the area is beautiful, but for the price would have liked to receive adequate electricity.

Nice
We stayed Mon - Fri in late Sept at site 126 in loop D and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Nice and quiet. We noticed bigger rigs starting to arrive on Thurs & Friday for the weekend so I can’t say what it’s like then. This is the open green grassy sunny loop with a few young shade trees and no brush between sites. All the tenters were staying in the wooded site loop C. Loop D bath house was very clean. Nice long unlimited hot showers. Fire wood $7 and ice $2 available at an honor system shed near check in ranger station at entrance. This was our first time here as we are from out of state and would definitely stay here again. I wish the state parks in our state had facilities like this. Nicely done PA.

I’d say this park has decently spaced sites, not the best we’ve seen, but far from the worst. It was fairly unlevel though, and it looked like the ones around us were too. Since we have dogs we had to stay in the dog-friendly area; this is a rule I’ve never seen at a campground before. It wasn’t a big deal, but did limit our options when choosing a site. The campground does have a lot of rigid rules in general, which they give you in the handouts at check-in, including an entire page with diagrams about parking.
One note is that your GPS may bring you to the “bridge of death” (according to Google Maps), which has an 11’1” clearance. If it directs you through Seven Valleys beware of taking county road 214.
Overall we had a pleasant stay with full hookups and it suited our needs for visiting family in the area.

Campground is clean. Depending on the loop and site, spaces are woody and enough distance from neighbors.
Full hookup sites are newer, just finished in June 2021.
Trail around lake was ok. Around 3 miles but easy.
Pool is walking distance from some sites (we were in C loop and it was about half mile). We didn’t go to the pool, but they do charge you to use and is cheaper for PA residents.
We used the campground as a base to golf, go to Gettysburg and explore some local breweries.

Camping area was great with playgrounds, decent facilities and close access to the lake with a boat launch and the swimming pool/splash pad facility. Some sites like 147 are out in the full sun but many sites are in the wooded areas. Hopefully the lifeguard/pool operations becomes a thing if the past bc it was a bit of a bummer this year!

This is a large, pleasant campground, in a large, pleasant state park, with smallish sites, but decent spacing, and pleasant employees.
However, there is one huge flaw that means I will never camp here again: not a single site is even close to level. All sites are purposely sloped, significantly, toward the road. A foot or more, at least, between front and back. That may make for easier surface runoff and maintenance, but it makes for an awful time in camp.
For example, I had to stop at least five times during a very brief shower to scoop the water toward the drain, in order to make sure that the shower pan didn’t overflow into my bedroom. Items roll right off the kitchen counter. Cabinets become launching pads.
And not everyone has automatic levelers, or the room to carry leveling blocks. So the fact that absolutely no site is even nearly level means it’s no longer a possibility for me. A shame.

I can see the complaints people have about the sites, but we were in 63 and it wasn’t bad.
Beautiful green grass and wooded areas.
Bathrooms were well maintained and the showers were nice.
Close to the lake.
Pretty strict rules on parking, and alcohol is prohibited.
