Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on September 28, 2023This campgound is one in a million. Totally secluded at the end of a 10 mile dirt road. It is an established campground with picnic tables and fire rings as well as pit toilets. It is situated in a aspen forest and there is tons of wildlife. There was no one there when we stayed and I got the impression it’s not hard to get a site, ever. We were in a campervan without 4x4 and the road was fine but I could see where it would get slippery if it was wet.

Awesome campsite. We stayed here only one night, I wish we would have more days. Great view of the flats and cell connection which was surprising for this area.

I arrived on Thursday and they were maybe four other sites taken. By Friday morning there were only three of us in the entire campground. I am still here the following Tuesday and I am the only one for miles and miles. There are many options for campsites, both for tents and bigger rings. I am in a van on a relatively level spot in the sunshine collecting electricity with my solar panels. There are pit toilets, and not much else except tall Pines, aspens, and the prairie that seems to go on forever. It is absolutely beautiful here.

We expected an almost empty campground, but we're surprised to find all the sites occupied, even some camping outside the campground. The reason? Opening weekend of elk bow hunting! We were very lucky that a 5th wheel occupying the best site was pulling out shortly after we arrived, and they advised us they were leaving and the site was available. If you turn into the left hand loop, immediately turn right to start the loop in a counterclockwise direction. The site is on the right as you turn left toward the bathrooms after coming down a short slope. You have a view across the flats for miles.
Although full, it was very quiet, and among the most scenic campgrounds I've visited, if you appreciate wide open spaces, wildlife, and nothing but the sound of the wind.
Yes, it's a remote campground, and the final road varies in condition -some ruts, some potholes, some washboard, but some nice and easy stretches. Take your time-its doable, as the presence of 5th wheels testifies.
Any other time of the year. I'm sure it truly is a little used campground, but even so, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
