Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 09, 2023Larson Park is attached to the Guernsey golf course. There are 15 sites. 30/50 power on the power pedestals. Please note there is NO RV dump available. Closest one is the Wyoming Visitor Center at I-25 or within Guernsey State Park.
The entrance to one of the Oregon Trail historic sites in nearly across the road and would be hikeable.
All sites are back ins. With relatively close spacing that might be challenging for rigs over 30ft, making the backing turn to get in.
Seems to get light to moderate use.

It turns out that there is a second section of campsites available at Larson Park. They are behind the old fairgrounds, next driveway north of the main campground. These are called dry camping sites and there are 12 spaces by my count. Each has 30/20 service but do not have water. Price is $14 per night.
Also the campground has WiFi that was showing 1mpbs up and down. Not speedy but a good solid signal.

With COVID-19 restrictions still in place on many public land sites, we were happy to find this city park and golf course operated by the Town of Guernsey. Only a few of the water/electric sites were occupied on the Monday night we pulled in so it was no problem that we didn't have a reservation, however they do accept them as well as allow after hours arrivals and check-in the following morning. The sites are fairly deep with a little slope to the front but we were able to level pretty easily. The pedestal provides 30 or 50 amps; water pressure was good and the park provides picnic tables, a covered pavilion and a shaded playground. Free WiFi with a pass-code is provided at check-in. We are self-contained so we didn't check the restroom facilities. There is no dump station on site but there is one at the WY rest stop at I-25.
Just over the hill to the east is a military installation, Camp Guernsey, that broadcasts morning Reveille, a noon trumpet call and Taps in the evening; that's really cool if you have military family members. A short walk away is an overlook to the Guernsey Ruts from wagons following the North Platte River on the Oregon Trail. The golf course is a short nine holes but well maintained and inexpensive. We paid $18 for 18 holes, cart extra.
Overall this was a nice, quaint experience and we are very appreciative of the hospitality provided by the Town of Guernsey.

Perfect for the night after visiting the various Oregon Trail sites in and around Guernsey. Really friendly staff and nice quiet spot in old section, under a cottonwood tree. Sat at the picnic table w laptop and glass of wine catching up and the sunset was magnificent. Pull through and only 15 bucks!!

This is a diamond in the rough. A friendly little camp ground right next to a 9 hole golf course. Walking distance to the Oregon Trail Ruts.

Great location on a nine hole golf course, next to the north platte river. Oregon trail ruts a short walk away and, register cliff two miles. Guernsey state park is less than five minutes west. I choose the back campground ( electric only) as the shade provided welcome relief from 95 degree days. I enjoyed my stay.
I’m driving ms. Lazy to the next adventure.

This was a special little campground along the water. We didn't golf but stayed across the bridge along the water with electric. These are not numbered sites so it was kind on random wherever you find an elec post. This is a shaded area of grass and dirt. We picked up Verizon and Dish satellite. For $15 it's a deal for the area. There wasn't a bathroom that we saw. We visited the Oregon Trail Ruts site across the street, the Register Cliff down the road and Ft. Laramie a short distance away. The lady working here is super nice!!

I wandered here without reservation and was lucky to get a place in this small, pretty campground with the North Platte River in front and golf course behind. Big cottonwood trees provided good shade. The staff was super nice.

We pulled in late in the afternoon with our 38' Super C & Tow Car. We weren't sure if we could fit under the entry way arch so we stopped and went in to ask it's height. Apparently no one asked before! We're just under 14' tall and we made it (for anyones future reference).
This is a city run campground on the golf course and couldn't be any cleaner. The staff was super friendly and helpful (both on the phone and in person when we arrived).
Took a drive that late afternoon down the highway to the Fort Laramie National Historic Site - great place to visit, stretch your legs and take a look at an important historic landmark in our countries history. We enjoyed walking around all the buildings (and yes, they let you bring leashed dogs!). This was a great stop, free entrance and parking!
On the way back to our campsite, we pulled in across the road from the park and visited the OR Trail Ruts - also a must see and another FREE way to get out and do a little walking after driving all day.
We will stay at this site again - they were also preparing to enlarge the camping area to the other side of the little creek/lake.

Called ahead and thy were ready with paperwork at the pro shop when we arrived. Relatively level. When manager saw us repositioning our rig, she came over and asked if we needed the picnic table moved or if we wanted a different spot. There was no need for either, but it was a nice gesture.
