BJ's ATV Rentals

John Aitkens came up from Southern California 32 years ago to visit the area. He saw a need for ATV rentals on the beach. He located the property at 197 Grand in Grover Beach in 1981 and rented the property until May 1982. He then purchased the property from the railroad in 1990. He started with 4 ATC's (which are 3-wheelers) and as the business progressed he purchased a few bikes at a time until he had 200 bikes to rent. In 2005, Wayne Foster came to the central coast to visit with his wife's family and fell in love with the area. He was looking for property to invest in and met with John Aitkens to discuss buying his property where BJ's ATV Rentals is located. He decided to purchase the business along with the property if John would stay on and run the ATV business for him. John stayed on with the business until moving to Nevada in 2010. We want our customers to experience the full enjoyment of the beach and dunes in a safe environment. Safety instructions are given to all riders before they are sent out in the dunes to ride.
