Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on October 09, 2022We travel easy most of the time, and often invoke the 222 rule - two hundred miles, arrive by two in the afternoon, stay two nights. The 222 brought us to Green River, Utah this time, and we decided to try Shady Acres.
Check-in was fast and easy, and our site was clean and level - long enough for our 40' fiver and our truck. There are a number of sites that in deed, do have plenty of shade, or if you need satellite signal, there are open areas as well. We don't generally use on-site restrooms or showers, but these were available, as is an on-site laundromat. Next door is a convenience store and fuel stop - which offers a .03 per gallon discount on fuel, and a BOGO deal at Blimpies for sandwiches. We were there in peak melon season and grabbed a couple of Black Diamond seedless watermelons, too.
The park is quiet and well-maintained, although it's fairly close to a set of railroad tracks. These didn't bother us at all.
Green River is a very small town, and has a minimum of goods, services, and meal options available. For us, though, it was a good chance to rest and recharge.

We stopped for one night, on our way south. The price seemed high but was the going rate for this middle-of-no-where town in the desert. On the bright side, its easy to find and easy to get in/out of the park. The check in was quick and they give you a slip of paper that gets you three cents off (per gallon) at the fuel station next door.
On the negative side, some of the turns, going thru the park, are tight and the placement of trees, both old and new, made it difficult to get around without dragging something along the side of the motor home. Also, because its in the desert, the park is mostly loose dirt and very dusty. I wouldn't have stayed more than one night.

A quiet convenient place to settle for exploring Goblin Valley State Park and Arches NP (49mi). Green River is a super small basic stop on I-70. The fuel station/convenience store next door offer $ .03 cent discount on fuel. This is an older park with mature trees. The sites are level, power is clean, wifi is slow. We didn't use the facilities so can't report on them. Very friendly staff in the office. Our Verizon hotspot worked well.

Coming off a week of boondocking we needed to empty our tanks, replenish water, wifi access, laundry the works! We researched laundry in town, dump fees etc and we decided our best option would be a couple of nights in a nearby campground. Shady Acres was it and worked perfectly for us. We arrived around 11 am without a reservation, we had called ahead and were advised to just "come on in"...very welcoming staff.
Wifi works great, laundry facility is huge $2 wash vs $4 wash in Moab, no brainer there! Pull thru gravel site with full hookups and great water pressure. Discounts on fuel at neighboring station along with discounts on Blimpie as well.
We consider this a gem of a find and provided us with exactly what we needed after 8 action packed days of boondocking in Moab!
We utilized our Escapees membership discount to save a few pennies as well. Nice quiet campground for sure. Easy access right of Business 70

We ended up staying here 3 nights before boondocking at Arches. Verizon worked great. Wifi was good, streamed netflix no problem. But park was mostly empty(Nov 2019). In the off season they shut off water to the sites. But there is a fresh water spigot that was easy to reach when you arrive.
Campground is mostly gravel, some sites have level concrete slabs for your trailer. Laundry was decent. Bathrooms & shower was clean. Gas station next door has some groceries. There's a larger grocery store 1/2 mile up the road. Ace hardware down the street can fill propane tanks. There's even a do-it-yourself RV wash. Which actually is a total pain in the ass cuz the brush didn't reach the other side of my trailer. I had to keep pulling forward, then turn trailer around to get stuff to reach. All while feeding machine quarters to keep time from running out. Probably way easier for smaller RV's. But I finally got my truck & trailer cleaned. It was pretty dusty.
Good spot if you're passing through & stocking up. About an hour away from arches & canyonlands.

Park has definitely had its time, its outdated and tight Sites. We have a 38ft TT and for an overnight stay in a relatively empty park we were given a space lumped next to 5 tent spaces. This was a bit confusing when hooking up especially after a long 400 mile day. Office attendant was friendly. We shortened our trip due to most neighboring amenities being closed. Quiet park.

It needs a face lift! It was very clean there are trees at the sites and they aren’t big so no branches to worry about. But if the park had been full!!! You would be elbow to elbow with your neighbor. Not my seen I’d prefer a little more space. They also have a laundry mat, gas station and car/rv wash. The kid toys were metal and outdated. I don’t have young kids but I wouldn’t want them climbing on them with the heat, but I think even the plastic gets too hot. Fairly close to Moab which was why we picked it.

This place was very cramped and loud with lots of children running around. Inside the park on the way to the site there was a tree leaning over into the road on a corner making it very tricky to get our large rig around it without taking a chunk out of it. Site was expensive for what it was, wifi was very poor and cell signal was spotty. We won't be staying here again.
