Each morning of your stay the kitchen will be filled with the aromas of the wonderful dishes being prepared for your breakfast. Make yourself comfortable in our dining room and enjoy being served a relaxed homemade breakfast while enjoying warm conversations with your hosts and other guests. In walking distance from The Rose of the Lake are many local attractions including Historic Grand Rivers (Kentucky's Resort Village) and Patti's 1880's Settlement. Walk from Lake Barkley to Kentucky Lake (two of the largest manmade lakes in the world) through the new Grand Rivers Park. On the way, eat at Patti and Bills Restaurant, hands down one of the best restaurants in the state! Take in the live Variety show at the new Baggett Playhouse on your way back. Come during the Christmas season and experience the fabulous light display in town. Then on top of that, we are located roughly a mile from The National Forest Service's Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area offering over 170,000 undisturbed acres and 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline. Bring your bikes and ride the trails, or rent a kayak and explore the shoreline. Area Attractions/Activities... Easy lake access and a new lighted walking trail with antique lamp posts Twenty to thirty minutes in four directions to four KY state parks Thirty minutes from Murray State University; Twenty-five minutes to Paducah Dances every Friday night at the Community Center (live band) and Street dances in the Park behind the Badgett Playhouse Theatre at various times during the summer; i.e., most Saturdays. Grand Rivers Quilt Festival, Kenlake Blues Festival "Hot August Blues", Kenlake Blue Grass Festival, Paducah Summer Festivals, Bar-B-Q on the River, Paducah Annual Quilt Show, Benton Tater Day, Grand Rivers Harvest Moon Festival, Labor Day Craft Festival, Grand Rivers Marathon, Bicycle trails, several "in the water" boat shows, several sailboat races, Pisgah Bay boat drag races, and numerous other events throughout the year.
