Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 15, 2021Navigating to the GPS coordinates for this site took us in via Rhody Truck Trail, this route was a little stressful with the trailer in tow. We made it fine without any damage but there was a sandy hill climb involved and the trail definitely required 4WD (while towing). If I had checked ahead of time, instead of blindly trusting Google Maps to get me there, I would have noticed that access is MUCH easier if you take H-58 to Rhody Creek Trail instead. This approach is paved except for the last 3/4 mile, safe with trailer in tow, would not require 4WD and provides a relatively easy turnaround at the next intersection, just don't go too deep. We found a grassy pullout, where we could have setup camp, but did not have Verizon coverage from inside the truck, and we decided not to check boosted access from within the trailer... we passed and went to Woodland Park Campground instead.

We spent one night here during a trip to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. No complaints, it was an easy enough to find and get into - we backed a way down what appeared to be an unused logging road for additional privacy & shade. It was a short 1.5 mile bike ride to some of the scenic points of interest along the lakeshore.
No cell phone service to speak of.

Super close to Log Slide in Pictured Rocks. We felt safe and comfortable. No signs that mentioned restrictions.

This is a typical dry camp place for smaller trucks and trailers, however we managed to easily park our 37 foot Motorhome there safely for the night.
I recommend checking the gravel/sand access road first, and make sure it is not too soft after a rain period. Some cellphone signal is available, noise was limited to a few ATV’s and trucks driving by occasionally, and access is easy from H58, about 3/4 of a mile.
There are only very few sites available.
