Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on July 24, 2023This is a brand new park and had only been open a couple of months when we stayed. While the camp spot drive was fairly firm, the rest of the gravel site was soft, real soft, like gravel mud soft. Backing in I got my tire off the gravel drive (normal backin maneuver) and I sunk in 6 inches. And poles. I just about nailed both the site marker and a small solar light illuminating said sign. I suspect more will be nailed as more people find this place. I would hate to be in a 43' class A with a toad. The driveways are a little tight.
The pad for the picnic table was real soft, almost mud, but it was missing an essential. No picnic table! Hopefully they will be added at some time in the future.
So right now, the place is a bit rough around the edges but let's talk about potential. It's location on the edge of downtown and next to the new Las Colonias park complex is excellent. It is also right on the Colorado River. This location is perfect for someone who wants a base to explore the Grand Junction area. There is much to see and do within walking distance. Did I mention the brewery just a short walk away? The botanical gardens?
The staff is friendly and helpful but is also looking for ideas to improve. The showers are new and clean along with a good laundry and community center. I gave them 4 stars for potential. The site right now is a 3 star because of mud. This campground could be a 5 star with just a bit more seasoning.

We arrived after hours and last minute because our plans to drive 133 from a day of skiing at Aspen were thwarted by a snowstorm. They allow same day reservations on line, which I love. It is so nice when your scrambling for a spot and doing an online search and comparison to just be able to see if a place can take you. I often don’t bother the places that make you call when we are in a last minute pinch because 9 times out of 10 you get a voicemail and by the time they call back, I’ve moved on in my search.
After I made my hasty reservation at 4:30 for a 7pm after hours arrival, I immediately got a text verification and a phone number to call if we were arriving after hours. I called and D answered on the second ring. Very friendly and accommodating. She asked me a couple of questions about our needs/priorities regarding our overnight stay, and proactively put us in a spot she thought would be better for our needs.
We arrived to a new, very clean great RV camp spot. Great directions left for us in night box. No issues at all.
They also are vanlifer friendly, and have van specific off-grid spots. While that’s nice, and if shower and laundry were our only priority we’d have scooped one of those up (I think they are $30), but we were wanting to plug in, charge our batteries after 4 days of boondocking in Aspen, and use our electric heat because we were having issues with our gas heater. They should add a few electric only nearer the bathrooms if they really want to attract van lifers.
Like the previous review noted in November, the pads are narrow and off the pads the ground is really soft. It’s dry today, so we were lucky, but it looks like it gets really muddy all around, and especially in the “picnic table spot”. Air quotes because still no picnic tables. I’d assume they figure not many people going to use in winter so hopefully just waiting for spring to get them.
We have marked it as a spot we will use again but it will probably lose that rating if the mud issue isn’t figured out. Even in our van we had very little space to stand and get in and out without having to step in the soft stuff.
But still, would not hesitate for a second to recommend.

I found myself laid over in Grand Junction with mechanical problems. I was tickled to find this RV Park at a reasonable price for the amenities. As others have said, it is new and still under construction, but the location on the river next to the park and walking path make up for the lack of landscaping. It was rainy today and a bit muddy, but that is to be expected on the Colorado plateau unless you prefer pavement. The clean restrooms with hot showers were wonderful as well as the laundry facilities. Also very dog friendly.

This is a nice new park. Gravel is just a little soft but not bad. We have a big rig and it was a little tight maneuvering but doable. The club house was great. And the place was dog friendly. We stayed 8 nights and got the 20% discount on 7 nights. When I went to get one more night they didn’t give me the discount because that only works on a booking of 7 more nights 🤷♂️

This is pretty new. We were in site #44, didn’t have a picnic table or fire ring like those on the inside of the loop. Was told the drive thru’s had priority and eventually they may get tables and fire rings for the back in sites. Everything has small gravel, flat surfaces so easy to park and stay level. Very convenient to bike trail (adjacent to property) and to the boat ramp for kayaks and SUPs. Full hookups, new laundry area, nice dog park. There’s also a very large dog park just a short walk near Las Colonias Park. Edgewater Brewery is close enough to walk or bike to. Downtown is also close with some great restaurants. Lunch Loops mtn bike trails are an easy bike ride away on the paved bike trail. It’s also an easy drive or bike ride to Palisade for fun wine tasting. Love this area and this new campground makes it easy to enjoy all that the Western Slope has to offer.

We made a late reservation and arrived late. We requested the spot next to our friends, who were already there. Lacy was very friendly, gracious, a clear communicator, and accommodated our requests. I could not figure out how to get the Good Sam discount so I emailed them and Lacy responded promptly and applied the discount. Strong work.
This RV park is premium, second most expensive we’ve stayed in. Level pull-through site (48), nicely landscaped with fire ring and clean, new-looking, rubber-coated picnic table. Good water pressure and clean power. My only nit on the site is that the sewer cap barely opened far enough to get my standard elbow in and out. I’d recommend chiseling away the cement a tiny bit behind the hinge so campers don’t break the cap off.
The community facilities must be amazing from reading the reviews and talking with our friends. We regret not having time to relax on the patio in front of the Colorado, explore the area, and sneak in a game of pool.
We have visited all lower 48 states and lower provinces in the last two years. Although the staff was very accommodating, we like parks that let you pick your own sites. They have a beautiful map, but it would be nice if it showed availability. They have a cart ordering system which is unique, but the description of every type of site is identical, including the pictures. This was confusing; with this system they should consider site descriptions ( number, type, length, levelness, pictures, view, obstructions, etc) and let you choose your own, or just have one generic choice for each type of site.
One other nit. Checkout is 11:00am, way too early. That would have been a deal breaker if our friends weren’t already there. 1:00 to 3:00 allows one-day campers to take in hikes, cook a meal and relax without having to get up at the crack of dawn.
Bottom line, we would and will return, but plan to stay another day or more.

Worth the price of admission
Great layout and a great spot to plug in for a spell.
Everything here is new and fresh.
Friendly and attentive staff if you need help with anything.
I really liked the common area - although it is shared with the adjacent condos, it wasn't busy at all and just a nice place to chill.
All amenities close by.

Excellent campground and the price is very reasonable especially with the amenities! The Riverwalk and park directly next to the campground are awesome. Great place to ride bikes or rent an electric scooter next door at the park. The bathrooms/showers were clean with hot water. Brand new laundry facilities, $3.50 for wash & dry. Sites are level and a nice size with nice quality hookups. The staff is friendly too. They have remodeled airstreams and tiny homes you can rent which look super cool too! Can't recommend this place enough. Close to live music, skate park, botanical gardens, breweries, a disc golf course, excellent river views. You'll love it here!

This is a newer park…everything this nice and clean, and the staff are great. It’s also in a great location…read some of the other reviews, there’s a lot within walking distance of the park.
