NOTICE: Goldendale Observatory has closed for upgrades; operations will continue at the Maryhill Stonehenge Memorial until project completion. Visit requests for dates and times other than those listed on the visit page will not be granted. Group sizes smaller than 10 do not require advance notice. Goldendale Observatory State Park staff may also be available by telephone during regular business hours to answer specific questions. Voicemails are generally answered within one to two weeks. Goldendale Observatory State Park is a five-acre educational facility on a 2,100-foot-high hilltop, 1.5 miles north of Main Street in the city of Goldendale. The observatory houses one of the nation's largest public telescopes and has attracted sky-watchers since its opening in 1973.
