Mountain Toad Brewing

Mountain Toad Brewing is a small microbrewery specializing in handcrafted fresh beer. Our focus is on providing a place for the Golden community to gather and unwind. The taproom offers a quaint and comfortable atmosphere for locals and visitors alike to grab a pint and make a new friend. After all, we find that craft beers are more thoroughly enjoyed when in good company. We offer beers by the half pint, pint or pitcher.  We also fill growlers so that our beer can be taken to-go and enjoyed at home.  Our building at the corner of 9th and Washington in historic downtown Golden, was an old machine shop that we have restored and transformed into a small brewhouse and taproom, with a beer garden in the adjacent yard. The building offers the elements of historic Golden charm and modern renewal, which has set the foundation for the brewery’s character.  The brewery was founded by four locals with a long history in Golden; engineers with strong ties to the Colorado School of Mines - including three alums and two PhDs from the school. We chose to leave our jobs in the corporate and academic worlds to pursue something more fun. We have dreamt of opening a brewery in our community for several years and are excited that this vision is coming to fruition. “Carefully Crafted” is our motto since, being engineers, we have a passion for building everything ourselves, from the ground up. Not only have we spent time to carefully craft our beer recipes, but we have also dedicated time to carefully design, construct and install all of our brewery equipment ourselves, to ensure that the highest level of quality is achieved at Mountain Toad Brewing.  At MTB, we thrive to combine tradition with innovation. We brew beers that we like to drink. Specializing in craft American ales while also offering seasonal varieties and experimental brews, we will have a brew for you!
