They were grading the road when I arrived, so it was a bit rough in spots. Better on the way out! It was 5.6 miles of winding dirt road and frequent cutouts to allow others to pass. There were four other spots occupied when I arrived. Luckily the third campsite was empty. It was the furthest from the road, but the whole two days no one passed by.
The third campsite looked like it could hold three families, though lots of room for setting up more than three tents! Each site had plenty of picnic tables, grills, and fire pits. Very well maintained. They even have outhouse buildings close to each campsite.
I have AT&T, and standing within the campsite, I had no cell signal. But walking about 100 feet out to the road I had 4G. I was camping alone, so I walked out there to check in with family a few times.
There was plenty of downed trees to use for firewood, and plenty of pine cones to get the fire started.
The generic info says seasonal camping starting in May, but I was there April 24th & 25th.
I would stay here again without hesitation!

Not for the faint of hearted getting up there very narrow forest round with a drop off on the side, very little room for error and I just had a 22 foot van. Very beautiful when you get to the top but make sure you go back down into Globe from the road you came from and not the other way over the south side of the pass in less you have a 4×4 with high clearance very bad road.

So I found this site on campendium and decided to go check it out. It was a beautiful location. Kinda crazy getting to it, the road is narrow and has some tight turns. Otherwise it was a great scenic drive out of Globe. The bathrooms were clean, and the fire pits were cleaned out and ready to use. I did see some trucks pulling small trailers make it in, but I wouldn't suggest it or try it in anything large.
