From US 180, turn right on Catwalk Road, also known as NM Rte. 174. The trailhead is at the end of the narrow, winding, and dip-filled road, about 5 miles away.
Absolutely fantastic! Don’t miss it - really - just don’t miss it! The directions are a little off. They may lead you astray. Watch for the brown park signs. You will likely find these about 5 miles south of where this app will take you. Easy to find if you use the national park signs. So worth it! Can’t say it enough - don’t miss this!
check for closure on the alerts section of the website before you go. as of 3.19.2019 closed for flooding. :-(
The Catwalk Trail runs through Whitewater Canyon, along the path of an old water pipeline. You can still see some of the bolts that used to anchor the pipe to the rock walls. This visually stunning hike features a suspension bridge and a waterfall.
