Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on September 26, 2022Bit hard to find. GPS 42.839041,-105.863447 On the east side of Glenrock, on US HWY 26 turn south on WY 18 (Mormon Canyon Rd). Stay on the paved road, it will go under I25, bears right and will take you into the park. Paved road until you are in the park then gravel.
Very quiet spots along the Deer Creek which flows north through Glenrock into the North Platte River.
There are about a half dozen concrete pads but they are pretty small. It appears that there are multiple spots where you can simply pull in on the grass/gravel and park.
5 day limit. No charge. There are a large number of water spigots scattered throughout the park.
This is adjacent to a ball field and rodeo arena so might fill up if there are activities scheduled.
Verizon was 4 bars and screaming fast. 26.44/13.46 mbps down/up.
There are a couple of museums in Glenrock, good super market at Super Duper.

Just a few hundred feet from the interstate so its very noisy. There seems to be no rules as other campers blared music, rode dirt bikes and ATVs till after 3am. Lots of barking dogs too. Areas are pretty level, grass was mowed and the park was pretty clean. Mosquitoes were pretty bad.

We came over here after Riverside Park in Douglas. We rolled in and checked the place out, stopping to talk to a guy who was setting up his fifth wheel. He told us there'd be a biker wedding here in a couple days. And there was, and it was great.
We parked on the grass under some of the numerous cottonwood trees for shade and set up our solar panels out in the sun. There is a ton of room here!
There's a fairly heavy police presence and that made us feel comfortable leaving our rig for a few hours while we checked out the museum, the "Rock in the Glen" formation, and some if the stores in town. There's good fuel prices in town and the hardware store is well stocked...with various bug sprays. You will need those!
According to the groundskeeper, the 5-day limit isn't enforced. There is potable water available and pit toilets. There are some concrete pads and picnic tables, too.
Verizon 4G LTE was solid and fast enough to stream Amazon video in HD on our smart TV connected to a phone hotspot. 31mbps down/8.2mbps up
There is definitely some noise from the highway, but then again nobody was bothered when we ran a generator for the AC in the afternoons.
Did I mention to bring your bug spray? Do.

Impressive! Wyoming's ability to provide free camping that includes fun things like picnic tables, playgrounds and pit toilets that is.
On a Monday night we practically had the place to ourselves and just camped in the playground's parking lot as it was less skeetery than the actual sites, and we've got kids. So out the door and down the slide in the morning. Another family ended up camping at a picnic area and our teenage son set up hos tent near some working outlets at the big red pavilion.
Police drove through several times and didn't seem to mind these choices.
Definitely noisy, but not from other campers. The wood chips at the playground were impressively fresh. Garbage cans no doubt helped contribute to the lack of litter. Great work Wyoming!

My partner and I camped here for 2 nights on our way to Yellowstone. It was great because we wanted to break up the drive and Wyoming doesn't allow you to overnight at rest areas. I gave it 5 stars because it really checks all the boxes for a free campground. We felt very safe and happy staying there, and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Pros:
There's water available so you can fill up before picking your spot.
It's remote and relatively quiet.
There's a lot of trees, so you can find a shaded spot.
Gravel spots large enough for bigger rigs--we had a full-shade spot that fit a 30' travel trailer and our truck.
The local police drive through a few times a day as part of their patrol, so it stays safe and clean. We felt comfortable unhitching and heading into town.
There is a rodeo arena as part of the recreation complex, so we got to see a roping competition and enjoy all the horses that showed up.
Picnic tables and bbq grill.
You can stay for up to 5 days!
Cons:
Some highway noise. Overall it's not bad, but you do hear trucks hitting the rumble strip and a semi had a blowout that sounded like a gunshot.
Tons of mosquitoes!! We had to be super adamant about opening and closing the RV door very fast, and we couldn't spend much time outside unless wearing pants and long sleeves (or you can douse yourself in bug repellent).
We had basically no cell service, even when we turned on roaming and tried connecting to the local carrier.
If you're bothered by noise at all, just a heads up that people do ride ATVs in the area. It wasn't often or at bad hours, so it didn't bother us at all.

Follow the coordinates in Campendium, (super easy to find) the area circles twice, with several cut thru gravel roads. There are 4 fresh water pumps (city water) trash bins on every corner. And tho several reviews were negative due to the proximity of the highway, we found it very comfortable white noise for sleeping since there's no T.V. on! This time of year in the rec area there's no one here! Room for doggies to run and play (some of the locals even came by with several doggies for ours to play with). Deer creek and paths that lead to and around it are a great mid- day walk to stretch those legs before hitting the open roads, again!

Nice little campground next to the ball park. Follow the GPS. Locals walking their dogs and traffic hum from I25 but you can’t beat free.

In addition to ball parks, rodeo arena, picnic and playground, there are 5 camping pads. The pads are small but level. We camped with our 36 foot Seneca and toad, had no trouble navigating even though roads are a bit narrow. The only negative was the highway noise but even that does not detract.

This location is open as of June 2019. There are only a few "campsites" here, maybe 5. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel which is 12'6" tall. Most of the sites are shaded by trees which are not cut back or haven't been in a while. As a result we could not fit in any site without trees branches blocking our way. (The sites do have concrete pads that are very short). We got lucky and a local family was camped there and told us to park in the open spot by the river. Worked just fine and we were level with no bricks. Didn't even unhitch. All in all it was a nice spot with deer roaming through. Also, the area appears to be very RV friendly. Casper, WY has free dump stations and potable water available. I think they want some tourist dollars.
