Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 13, 2024If you're looking for no frills, cheap RV living, this is the place for you. Functional is the highest compliment I can give this place. It is hard with kids though as there is no place for them to play. Just sleep here and move on.
With some upkeep, this campground could be a 4 star accommodation. But it is really rundown. However, in Gillette, there are only two campgrounds in town. So you have to decide which one you would rather put up with. It is right across from the CamPlex Event Center where some big RV rallys are held.
There is easy access to this campground. The roads are gravel. Sites are back in and pull-thru, with some tent sites. Sites are tightly spaced, but not too tight. A lot of the residents are full time, which leads to some really junky looking sites. All of the pull through sites are supposed to be 50 amps...except (of course) for the one we picked at the end of the row. It was only 30 amps. We decided to stick it out.
I would advise having a power conditioner before plugging in, just in case. In most cases you have to share a water hydrant with your neighbor (they have Y connections)..and a lot of the permanent residents have decided to claim both sides of the Y. You may have to disconnect someone else's hose to get water. That was another reason we stuck with the 30 amp spot we had pulled into..Site 43 didn't have to share water. The owner claims the water pressure at the hydrants is sufficient to handle two rigs.
Each site has a rickety, paint peeling, picnic table. The playground is run down. The laundry room was the cleanest room in the place. Wash and Dry were both $1. But I had one washer eat my $1. I thought a second one was broke also, until I realized someone had unplugged it. Bathrooms were "ugh." The office is empty except for the check-in counter some abandoned furniture.
The owner is very pleasant. But I would call before you arrive. She had to drive over from her other job to check us in.
There is WiFi, but we had to put up our external WiFi antenna to pick it up at the end of the row. Download speed was 1 Mbps. We used our Jetpack instead. Verizon 4G was good. We were able to get a good number of OTA TV channels.
This campground is a place to spend the night and keep on moving. There is nothing attractive about it. Broken air fill station, broken mailboxes, etc. This was probably once a nice looking place. Not anymore
FYI...we stopped here to have a new toilet installed in our RV. We highly recommend Marten's RV Service. Larry and his mobile service were great.

Clean sites and laundry room, did not check showers. Water pressure very high, so be sure to use some type of flow restrictor. A bit noisy early in the morning when many residents are headed out to work before sunrise. Otherwise clean, level and a mix of workers and those passing through.

Had to stop unexpectedly in Gillette due to car troubles. Called and was warmly greeted by staff. Pull through gravel spot was pretty level. Really high water pressure. No picnic tables but we didn’t need that. Surrounded by fields where we saw antelope roaming. Even had a visit by some neighboring horses from the farm next door. Clean laundry room. Park wasn’t fancy but it had everything we needed. They even accommodated us checking out late; as we had to pick up our truck from mechanic. Friendly long term residents also. And free WiFi!

Okay park across the street from the CAM-PLEX. Dirt/gravel roads and sites. Not all the sites are very level. Some pull-through available. Fairly quiet especially in the back by the field. Great water pressure at near 100 lbs, bring your reducer. Electric hook up is a bit forward, but reachable. No store. Friendly staff. We were limited to 30 Amp but they do have 50 Amp available. Some full timers but no really junky looking spaces. I would stay here again.

This campground is under new ownership and improvements are being made. The staff members are really nice and very accommodating, but none of the sites in this campground are level; even the most recently renovated ones. The electric pedestals are situated in the middle of the sites and the dump is located at the rear of the sites, complicating set-up even more. We are in a 30' motorhome without automatic levelers and do things the old-fashioned way, with leveling blocks. Even the most level sites required a different number of leveling blocks on each of 3 corners. If you're in a fifth-wheel, travel trailer or have automatic levelers, you might be fine. The bathrooms and laundry were secured with a combination lock, and the laundry was clean (I didn't use the bathrooms). We have been living full-time in our RV for 5 1/2 years and these are the worst campsites we've ever tried to set-up in. The campground does offer WiFi, but we didn't use it. The cell service reported here includes the use of a booster. I would not camp here again.

Places are close together But Plenty Of Room To Maneuver. Really no shade. Rate Gets Cheaper If Saying A Week. Water Pressure Is High So Regulator Is Needed. A Herd Of Pronghorns Everyday Grazed In The Field Behind Us. Laundry Room Is Clean And Inexpensive. The Town Is Friendly With Lots To Do. Some great restaurants and bars.

We had to go to Glllette because of troubles with our rental RV. We ourselves would never go to Gillette. Bevause we like nature and are in USA to visit the NParks.
Our rental company paid this campground for us so I don’t know the price.
The showers are clean. You got a code to go in.
There was WiFi. It works good.
The campground has no trees or something else. It is very simpel.

All I could ask for except there was the office was closed when we got there and there were no directions letting us know it was ok to go direct to our site. Place got the job done for a reasonable price. Also a nice gas station is located a quarter mile away.

We arrived around 11 am to find the office closed. Went ahead to our site . Appears to have quite a few permanent guests as they had big propane tanks and looked like they had been there awhile. Went to bathrooms to check out. Mens was not very clean and old. Women were locked, and from previous posts, they had started renovating it 11 months ago. The laundry room was nice and clean, though. There were 4 dryers and 4 washers. The cost was $2 each.
