Site was pretty level. We did not see any camp host, and no one answered the posted number when we got there. Before you pay, make sure there is an open spot.

The highway noise is loud all night long and each lake has a ton of trash in it, but the campground is otherwise amazing. The sites are really well spaced, the grassy areas are wonderful for running through, lots of trees for shade, and close to the small town of Gibbon NE and only 20 minutes to Kearney NE. The highway noise isn't to terrible, especially if you sleep with the windows closed. We like to open them at night. We'd absolutely stay here again, despite the trashy lakes.

Full service hook ups except WiFi and cable. Camping area is well kept and the shower rooms are all very nice. Shower rooms have working real toilets and not outhouses. The noise from the interstate is a bit much and the lakes are full of trash.

A very nice find for one night when heading home to Michigan. Easy off and on to I80. We’re 25ft. with tow. They have back-in for those with trailer, or w/o tow,They also have pull-off spots parallel with their drives. That type worked well for us. We were tucked in nicely without having to unhook our tow. We needed a couple of ‘lego’ blocks to level up. Electric on every RV site, water available, and dump site. First come, first served until May when reservations are needed. Very pleasant place for our daily walk. Cell coverage was adequate.
Highly recommend!

We had an excellent experience at Windmill State Park. We first stopped here on our way east to Iowa. This gave us a chance to take a break from the road, eat lunch, and take a walk. On the return trip west, we decided to stay here again. We arrived Saturday night and found an open electric spot. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to stay a 2nd night. The campground is clean and well-maintained. It is feature-rich with lakes for fishing, walking paths, a beach and swimming area, and an archery range. Staff was very friendly. Our site was level. What more could we ask for? We recommend this park to others. We will return.

Great place to stop as we drive east across the country. Right off the I80. Friendly staff. Wow! Coming from California this was a treat. Green, lots of trees, and best of all, availability on a first come, first serve status! Electric site was perfect as the weather was definitely hot and humid and the AC was a must. Dump station and water fill right there. Site was in last loop next to Lake6 where we could swim. Make sure and take the nature hike. So cool! Would highly recommend.

Well this is a clean and otherwise peaceful campground you will hear the constant roar of trucks on I 80.
I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #27, an E/W (30A), PT site for $25/night plus $12 fee. Roads and sites were asphalt and the navigation through the park was easy. The PT sites are just crescents along the side of the road. I had to put my wheels on the grass to make sure that my slides didn’t stick out into the active roadway. It wasn’t a comfortable situation. The electric pole was on the wrong side of the rig, but as it was positioned in the middle of the site my cord reached easily. I think the back-in sites were nicer, but most of those were only 40’ long. I didn’t check the bathhouse. A speed test showed 25.6 mbsp download speed, 2 bars LTE with Verizon, no wifi. I didn’t check OTA channels. I didn’t check out the bathhouse or other amenities. The road noise was pretty bad (as I expected) so I couldn’t see staying here for more than an overnight.

I chose this site after a long day of traveling. I simply needed a place to sleep inside my van safely, and I wanted a shower. There’s some real iffy boondocking nearby but you get what you pay for, so I came here. The showers are coin operated and totally private locking stalls. Lots of area to walk the dog and stretch our legs. Yes, there is freeway noise if you’re outside or in a tent. But inside a vehicle I couldn’t hear anything. And I was at a spot right near the interstate. Lots of birds to watch too.
