“the largest military diorama in the United States”
Come see The Battle Of Gettysburg in a scale model recreation. This is the largest military diorama in the United States at over 800 square feet of display. A truly massive presentation. The Gettysburg History Center proudly presents The Battle of Gettysburg in a truly unique and original light and sound show that is fully narrated. The three days of the epic battle are presented across a three dimensional landscape that is the largest military diorama in the United States. Get a bird's eye view of the conflict and gain a better appreciation for the scope of this historical moment as the models and topography are to scale and historically accurate. See this show first to better appreciate touring the actual battlefield by having a better grasp of the land and relative positioning of important events. Be able to better visualize the troop positions and maneuverings.
This surprised us with a mapped out timeline of events of the battle. It spotlights the places, explaining who was in what area and when. Much more comprehensive than I expected. I did not give it a 5 only because it got going too fast in places, feeling like a sportscaster on GameDay. Still, very highly recommended as a first stop overview before you go to the battle fields.
