San Gabriel House, a 1908 mansion across from Southwestern University and a mere ten minute walk from Georgetown's historic downtown Square, is the quintessential Bed & Breakfast. Located in Georgetown, Texas, San Gabriel House Bed & Breakfast offers an outstanding blend of personal comfort, privacy, convenience, and friendly charm. This is a Bedford-built house believed to have been built circa 1908 for the W.R. Sells family. Mr. Sells was a banker/rancher who moved to Georgetown so that his children could attend Southwestern University and is situated directly across from the Southwestern University campus. The home is built on the site of a home built by Dr. Hyer, which is believed to have burned around 1908 and may have been partially or completely destroyed. It was at this time the property was sold to the Sells family. It is uncertain exactly when the Sells house was begun as the Bedford Lumber company records frequently were not kept up-to-date; however, Mr. Sells’ grandsons have put the completion date around 1908 based on their father’s age when he began classes at Southwestern.
