“A Ride To Remember!”
The beauty of the rugged Rocky Mountains surrounds you as our old-time steam locomotive or one of our powerful diesel locomotives winds up the Clear Creek canyon. Pass by remains of gold and silver mines and breathtaking views along the line, in fully enclosed and open cars. Great family fun for kids of all ages.
The Georgetown Loop train is one of Georgetown's top tourist activities, and from the views it offers you can see why. I thought it was a little overpriced (adult tickets run about $25/person), but the scenery it takes you through is stunning.
This was awesome!!! It was very cold (so bring warm clothes) but we loved it!
We got there too late to ride the train but it sure looked neat. It's nestled down below the roads and into the wilderness. Cute little store and bathrooms. Fun stopover to stretch your legs.
Love The Train its a special memory. Can't wait to go again.
This was one of our favorite stops on our road trip. The train is really cool but the views during the ride are spectacular. Buy your tickets in advance! I am so grateful we did because when we got to the depot their was a huge line. There are basically 2 options or train cars. there is the open ones that do not have a roof and the ones that have a roof but have open windows. We chose to ride in the one with a roof since it was July and we didn't want to get hot or sunburnt. We had a 2 year old and she was not scared of the loud engine but a lot of the other kids were scared of how loud the train was. If you are traveling with a kid who does not like loud noise I would sit toward the back. You will ride all the way up the mountain side then you will stop at another depot so the train can refill before you head back down. It is like a 10 min stop. When they bring the train back they will hook on to the opposite end. Again the views are spectacular and we will definitely be going back.
Fun ride for kids an adults who want to take their first train ride. Not overly exciting or fast but there are nice views and a ton of history. We did a special Mother's Day ride, had pictures taken at the entrance which then we could purchase for $20 at the end of the ride. Also I received a cute Mother's Day gift at the end for free. It was a nice experience.
My daughters both enjoyed this 1-hr railroad trip through the mountains. Lots of pretty scenery!
We really enjoyed our ride there last year as part of our 2016 4th of July celebration.
Very scenic, but where in Colorado is it not scenic. Tickets are overpriced at $25.00 per. Person.
