Gearhart, Oregon is located at the northern edge of Seaside, 10 miles from the northwest tip of Oregon, Gearhart is in fact a town of its own and the home of a comfortable upscale retirement community. Known for its small, intimate atmosphere and fashionable restaurants.

Gearhart Beach, located in town, is one of the few public beaches in Oregon where visitors are permitted to drive on the sand. Many people however, prefer to enjoy Gearhart’s scenic beauty by foot.

Great place to stop on the way - friendly people, very clean restrooms and showers, separate tent camping. Also 5 minutes drive from the beach. But keep in mind it's on the 101, so it's quite noisy, even though it's easy to ignore that.
