The RV sites are laid out nicely, terraced at an angle so no one is right on top of each other. We stayed in site 4 and it could’ve been a little more level side to side, but 4 yellow blocks on the downhill side got the job! Sites are very long and easy to access. Electric, water, & picnic table at each site. Sheltered from the highway noise, as you go up and over a ridge to get into the campground.
NOTE: IF YOU FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS FROM THE NORTH.. the directions tell you to pass the place up, go .8 mile PAST Roy’s Rd, then do a U-turn and come back to turn onto Roy’s Road.THIS IS MOT NECESSARY, As there is no obstacle or median or anything. Two yellow lines. Maybe that’s why the directions are given like that? I don’t know, but it is stupid, don’t waste your time, especially if you are towing something!!
Mother and her daughter owners are very nice and accommodating. I texted them on our way there and they came to our rig to register us. There is a lengthy waiver to read and autograph, my feeling is it is geared more to horse people.
As a personal experience, we got there just as a rain storm was hitting. What a gorgeous vista close to sunset. Red rocks, blue sky, black clouds, lightning and double rainbow. Beautiful!

I created an account just so I could comment on this place. We are full timers and stay in many campgrounds. MIMO Jetpack works great, cell phone not so good. Apart from the fact that all the utilities are in excellent condition, the small campground feel of Ethel’s is wonderful and unique. There are others in the area, but Ethel’s is just over the hill and the panorama of the landscape is stunning. Sites face your curbside windows over the prairie. Conflicted in writing this as I want to keep it to myself, but I would rather help the super nice owner as they are the type of family owned campground that is becoming increasingly rare. You won’t regret your decision to camp here. I know I’ll be back.

5 pull thru RV sites with H2O and electric hookup only. No dump station or dumpster. Rustic tent sites as well with port-0-potty. Owner is kind and knowledgeable about the area and lives on ranch off in the distance. Check in booth has waivers, yard dice, dominos, and maps of the area. Very quite and dark campsite. You can see the Milky Way. Public land access from camp ground and you can hike up the butte following some of the OHV trails. View from the top is spectacular (2.5 miles round trip hike). Oh and you can’t smell the horse stalls. Very clean.

Stunning views in a nicely laid out campground. We stopped over for one night, and I’d love to come back for a longer stay. There are a free things to be aware of:
- In the rare event of rain, the ground gets very soft and muddy.
- You have to pack out your own trash.
- The five RV sites are parallel lines and essentially identical — same layout, grade, and stunning views.
- The only bathroom is one porta-potty. No flush toilets or showers.
