We camped for three nights during the half Iron Man, the campground is small with fairly tight sites. The placement of the water/electric on some of the sites makes it a bit of a challenge unless you have a very long electric cord. We opted to place our camper on a diagonal to elevate the issue. We had a pull through site which was very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the campground is clean.
We would stay here again but will utilize a dump station elsewhere. I would also try to get a spot away from the footpaths. They had an immense amount of foot traffic, people were quiet but it was just a lot. There are an excessive amount of speed bumps through out, good to have but there were a lot.
The proximity to Frankfort is fantastic, nice smooth path to ride or walk on.

I was surprised to be the first to review this campground. I expected that there would be many who had been through this site/area before, but happy to break new ground!
Pros:
- The owners are friendly and helpful. They take a great sense of pride in their establishment and ensure the campers and others are following the rules.
- The campground seems filled with mostly families as well as groups of outdoorsy folks looking to use the proximity for sports.
- Nice little store and restaurant at the main entrance.
- The seasonal campers we met were friendly and helpful. We received at least 2 tips from the neighbours that turned out to be great recommendations.
- Air hoses for bikes at the entrance.
- They rent things like bikes, bike trailers, and a few other things. Super useful for trying out things you might be on the market for.
- Bathhouses are clean.
Cons:
- If you are looking for full hook-up there aren't sites. There is a dump station near the bathhouse.
- The sites are a bit small and close together, but for the most part you are hopefully coming here to enjoy the area.
- Wifi speed is so-so. I found the pings and stability wanting if you are trying to do a few VTC or remote work. I ended up tethering to my T-mobile phone.
All in all one of our favourite sites. We will be back. Frankfort is an amazing area and Betsie is a great place to explore it from.

My friends and I hit up this campsite last weekend. They have a really great website and almost every question you have is answered on there. Very family-friendly, not great for loud 20-year-olds, but it's nice. The bathrooms weren't bad. I didn't shower there, but one of my friends said the water pressure was a bit unimpressive but it was warm, and that was at about 8:30 at night. About a half hour from Frankfurt, which has a cool beach, lots of benches and even swings right by the water, volleyball nets, and two concrete piers that curve towards each other. About an hour from Traverse City. Overall had a great experience there! A little expensive for my taste, but I would go again with a big group :)
