Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on September 09, 2021For what the park can control, it has done a very nice job. Modifications to its original design have been made to accommodate today's larger rigs. Enough trees are between the asphalt pads to be aesthetically pleasing but not so many as to block satellite TV reception and the extension of multiple slides. (We did have to change sites to make this happen though.) The biggest issue most will have is the road noise from the adjacent freeway. As with any facility offering easy freeway access, road noise has the potential to be bothersome. For those seeking a nicely landscaped park with small city conveniences nearby and a home-base from which to visit the southern area of Eureka or 'The Avenue of the Giants' this park would be our recommendation.

We stayed here for an overnight and were quite pleased, even though it is a little spendy. The pull throughs are all asphalt with a concrete patio for the picnic table. There is lots of grass and large trees. It is shoehorned between the road into town and 101, so there was road noise, but it went down after dark and with the windows closed we didn't notice it at all. The bathrooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the wifi worked great. The best thing is the park is walking distance to the Eel River Brewery which has excellent beer and sweet potato fries!

Friendly staff who keep this park clean and neat help make the stay very nice. Some Hwy 101 noise but not enough to be annoying.

This is your typical RV park. The majority of the park was occupied by full timers and the staff tries to keep it clean. We just needed a night to stay in route to the northern section of the Coastal Redwoods and it sufficed. It was close to the 101, which allowed for easy off and back on.

The park is a former KOA right off of Hwy 101 in Fortuna, an old logging town. It’s near four chain hotels and the Eel River Brewery and Restaurant. It’s about 1/2 mile from Safeway, Starbucks and various other stores.
The sites are a little cramped but the place is tidy. There laundry and a small store on site. They have wheelchair accessible bathrooms and showers. About half of the sites look to be permanent residents. Most of the overnight sites are pull through and are long enough for Long motorhomes and towed vehicles.

Noisy highway traffic on both sides. No refunds if you check out early you pay for all nights not stayed. Expensive, pool closed. Hot tub dirty.
Close to a nice walk trail River Walk. Lots of homeless around.

This place looks really nice in pictures and in person, but you kinda get a weird vibe when you get in there. I don't really know how to describe it. Even though it looks like a nice RV park and nothing really out of the ordinary, you just get this feeling that maybe you shouldn't be staying here. The rules limit stays to a few weeks but it really seemed like there were a lot of people living there because they had to, not because they wanted to. Just weird. I have no other way to describe it. If you've spent any time in Eureka you'll kinda know what I mean. To be fair, there is nothing wrong with this park. It's clean, sites are nice and wide, hookups are well maintained and work well, they have a nice store, etc, there is just something about the place. We started to fill up our RV at the gas station next door, and I got about 1/2 way full and I cut it off and we got out of there. We were getting some concerning looks and people milling about. Anyway, like I said, there is nothing wrong with the park, you just feel like you're in a Black Mirror episode or something.

We stayed here with a group of other RV's traveling. We arrived, checking was prompt and friendly. The sites are a little tight, but can still easy get our 36 Foot Class A with dual slides in with out issue All the sites had nice trees around them making for good shade. The grounds were well kept up with the friendly staff. The laundry facilities are clean and have ample washer and dryers. There are other reviews complaining about freeway noise at times but it was not disruptive and got use to it after a day or two. Nice relaxing stay, would stay again especially heading north on 101 towards Oregon.

Clean, quiet for the most part. Like others have commented there are a lot of semi permanent folks staying here which makes for an odd vibe in some ways. We’re there for holiday juxtaposed with those who may be there out of circumstances and it doesn’t make for good will in some cases. Our neighbors both had large dogs but one side was a full timer and the dog slept outside on our side of their rig. Every time we try to go out with our dog results in a confrontation between the dogs. Fortunately just a single night. It’s a clean park and nice enough. The store closes at 5pm so not much use after arrival.

The manager lowered my price since I was a veteran. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and though the weather wasn't warm enough for swimming, there was a pool. Spaces along the Hwy 101 side have a lot of highway noise but it faded away after 8pm. A drive to Ferndale and Petrolia is very scenic but I don't recommend taking your trailer or RV there.
