“the comforts & charm of the days gone by”

In 1900, as Fort Worth was a bustling stop along the Western front for cattle drivers to drop their herds to be slaughtered, packed, and shipped, a young man by the name of William M. Robinson, his wife and three children purchased a half acre parcel of land to build their home on the James Garrison subdivision. William was an entrepreneur born and bred. He managed the Rosen bar which was located inside the Rosen hotel. The hotel was situated on what was once nicknamed "Hell's half acre." This is the current area where the Fort Worth convention Center now lies. Back in the early 1900s it was the main stop for all of the gentleman arriving to do business from the trains. Hell's Half Acre was filled with brothels, saloons, gambling, and libations. William was no fool; he took every opportunity he had to sell alcohol to the visitors even if it meant running into a bit of trouble with the law. He was a colorful sort, William had more than a few run-ins with the law and one very public event where shots were fired while he, a cousin, and some other men were illegally hosting a poker game at the Rosen hotel. As you can see the Rosenhouse Inn had some colorful if not entertaining history they didn't call it the wild West for nothing. This beautiful home has been restored to its once grand glory providing its guests the comforts and charm of the days gone by.
