It's very rustic, with dirt roads that are actually more path than road, and a very woodsy feel. You can enjoy a peaceful setting in the off season when few people are around. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit, and most, if not all, are quite shaded. Big rigs might have difficulty driving and maneuvering around here, but we managed in our 37 ft diesel pusher. Just go slow! There are individual showers and bathrooms in the clubhouse, along with a game room and large Stone fireplace. The camp store will be open again once the new hosts arrive, but it was closed while we camped there in Feb 2020. The Ichetucknee Springs State Park is a mile away and not to be missed! This Campground was the perfect spot for relaxing arrive a fire and enjoying the night sounds of owls and insects... But it wasn't buggy this time of year, so I can't vouch for other times.

The site's are large, private and have a lot of tree's and shade. There is 2 game rooms with pool tables, Juke box, air hockey, video games, TV and Beautiful Stone fireplace. The River is Beautiful and the Campground rent's Tubes, Kayaks and Canoe's. They Deliver Firewood and Ice to your site for cheaper than you can buy it at the store.

We like to kayak the Santa Fe river and the ichetucknee river so this location is good for doing both. There is a clubhouse with a game room and a place to hang out. The road in the campground can get muddy if there’s a lot of rain. There is no trolley service from the campground so it helps to have 2 vehicles to drop the kayaks in at one point and pull out at the other. The ichetucknee springs state park offers trolley service. It’s a couple hour float down and a little walk back to the loading area so bring your wheels to transport your kayak. Crystal clear spring fed water, lots of turtles, shore birds and pretty scenery.
The Santa Fe river is brackish with beautiful cypress trees. Yes some gators we don’t see one often. You can drop in at one bridge and get out at another or other locations on the river.
The campground is ok could use some upgrades the new owners are working on improvements. We had a lot of rain and the electrical was a problem in our area. The other area seemed fine. The dump station was full you had to release a little at a time or else! The office isn’t open a lot so pay attention to the times. We booked a site way in advance and they gave it to someone else. We had 2 other campers staying and we were semi close. I was not happy. They put us in site # 1 which was good other than the electrical problems, and one of our friends stayed across from us the other was in the back area.
The time of year we were there we had tons of caterpillars done stung you. I know it’s not like that often.
The owners gave a small cow and 2 pigs which came to visit us one day.
Close by is oleno state park, ginnie springs, The Great outdoors restaurant (excellent food), a little further away is sweet water preserve great birding, and north Payne’s Prairie lots of gators, wild horses and Bison.

We had a great time here. Huge site with lots of privacy. Fire ring and picnic is on the same side as the hook up, so we couldn’t really use our awning and our camper opened to the road.
We loved the animals. Clean bathroom is always a bonus. We rode our bikes to the spring, there’s no bike path so you have to be extra careful, but the road isn’t busy.
One small negative that is probably a one off…we requested a box of kindling from the man (employee) who delivered our firewood; when he dropped it he told us it was $12. We gave him the money but were stunned at the cost of a very meager box of bark and wood chips. Next day we went to the office to get more only to learn from the owners it was FREE!!! We felt really taken advantage of. I didn’t say anything because I wouldn’t want someone to lose their job over $12. But if you go, get your stuff directly from the office.

The owners were very nice and helpful. There is a dump station available, electric and water available at the numbered sites. Much like a state park with dirt sites and lots of trees.
Be prepared with cash only and a $20 deposit which is returned when your site is left as clean as you found it. Less than a mile from the North entrance of Ichetucknee Springs State Park.
