The Billy the Kid museum is run by the same owner and well worth a visit. The museum is a collection of stuff dating from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s. Billy the Kid is just the hook it it is so much more from toys to a barbershop to old wagons and cars. Stopping at the RV park is only part of the experience.

We will remember this little park for over night stops on the way to Colorado. It is nothing special, but it is clean, functional, and easy to get along with. There are no other amenities here, but it’s a good landing spot.
The Billy the Kid museum is right next door and managed by the same individuals who manage the park.
We stayed one night in August on our way to Texas from Colorado.

No bathrooms or showers but for only $20 a night you do get a level site, Wi-Fi, garbage, sewer, water and 30/50 amp power!! Nice folks run it and the Billy the Kid museum is fun. Stop on by. Our stay was Oct. 25-27. 2020

This is a very basic campground with no bathrooms, showers or laundry. We stayed in pull through full hookup site #24. It was level and comfortable. During setup we noticed several issues with the electrical post. I called the museum and a kind gentleman named Tom stopped by the next morning. He replaced both the 20 amp and 50 amp breakers in about half an hour. Tom was a very nice man and I enjoyed chatting with him. Great service! Free wifi worked at the site and it was blazing fast. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 4 bars. Road traffic was loud but our white noise CD mostly blocked it out at night. All things considered this was a great deal at only $20.00 per day. Dave's Grocery down the street is above average for a small town. Good prices and they also have fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't miss the Fort Sumner Historic Site. Excellent museum with interactive exhibits that will literally bring you to tears!

Price is now $30 but, pull thru level site. Much needed after dry camping the past 7 days. The museum is a must if you’re a fan of western history, gravesite is also worth visiting as the headstone has been stolen twice. I’m driving ms lazy to the next adventure.

It was easy to find, right off the main road. We called the same day and there was room/we were able to reserve for that night. Full-hookups and trash dumpsters. The only noise was the train during the night, but other than that it was a great stop! $30 a night.

Nice little park with the Billy the Kid museum a block away. No bathrooms or showers but level sights and full hookups. The owners also own the museum and are very friendly with lots of info on the area. Be sure you go to the the Kid's grave and also the Bosque Redondo (Navajos long walk) museum. Very moving.

I ended up boondocking at Bosque Redondo Lake (also on here in Ft Sumner). I needed to dump and get water. The clerk and I'm assuming one of the managers was very helpful at the Billy The Kid Museum 1 block down. I paid at the museum and I was able to dump ($5) and fill up my fresh water ($5). I drove thru the RV park and it looks really cute. Just a basic RV park right off the main road. I highly recommend this place!!!!
