“Kampgrounds of America”

Fort Pierce, often called “The Sunrise City”, has been the hub of St. Lucie County, Florida for over 100 years.  We are situated on the Treasure Coast, named after the famed sinking of a Spanish treasure fleet in 1715.  Our KOA is located just off of I-95 (exit 129 FL 70 Okeechobee Road) and the Turnpike (Exit 152 Okeechobee Road) in South Florida.  We offer large, level pull-thru and back-in RV sites with 50/30/20 amp service, complimentary WiFi, cable TV and we are satellite friendly.  Take a dip in our beautiful pool and bring your fishing poles, so you can drop a line in our Catch & Release pond. Visit our friendly campground store for all of your essential RV supplies, or stop by for a cup of coffee, ice cream and a friendly smile.  Missed dinner? Our area restaurants deliver to our campground you can order through the Door Dash app.   If you need a place to eat out with Fido, just ask and we can give you some ideas.  Our campground is pet-friendly and has a KampK9 dog park to allow your furry-friend some off leash time. Fort Pierce is a vibrant coastal community with beautiful beaches, historical sites, with the flavor of an “Old Florida” fishing town.   The magnificent sunrises on the Indian River Lagoon, or rising over the ocean, are breathtaking - none can compare.   Fort Pierce is one of Florida's best-kept secrets, with museums and a wealth of cultural and recreation attractions.Arts & Culture - The arts are alive and well in Fort Pierce, with museums, art galleries, performing arts and more. Discover St. Lucie's 21 miles of uncrowded and pristine beaches, where nearly half the coastline is public preservation — a rare characteristic for a South Florida beach destination. What's more, is that visitors enjoy more public beach access points per square mile than any other coastal community in Florida. This park seems new. Nice roads, level sites, pool, and staff. There’s a gate to get in. Cell service for both AT&T and Verizon strong. They pick up your trash at your site. We would stay here again if in the area.

This is a new campground (summer 2021) that's very easy to access. The sites are about 80% pull thrus and all very long with a lot of space in between and were extremely level. No shade.

The pool and grounds are excellent. Wifi was excellent and able to work and stream the entire stay with solid speeds.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to picking up the trash and keeping the grounds clean.
There was a huge dog park with 2 separate areas.
I didn't use the bath house but it looked very nice and clean.

The major downside to this location is the road noise. It really can't be ignored as the road the campground is next to has big rigs flying down it all hours of the night. If you are at the back side of the park away from the road it's not as bad but I still would not call it terribly peaceful.
The upside is, it's very convenient as a quick in/out location for travelers.

The downtown Ft Pierce area is very cute with a HUGE farmers+craft market which we enjoyed. Lots of great shops and the beaches are really beautiful.

Stayed here Nov of 2021 during Thanksgiving week. Catching up on reviews.

Site type: Pull-through, FHU, 50 AMP

THE GOOD
Location: Gas, restaurants, and groceries are within 5-10 minutes.
Staff: Very friendly and helpful.
Sites: Large paved sites with grass living areas. No shade though.
Maintenance: Clean and nicely maintained,
Patio: Private bungalow / tiki bar.
Secure: Gate code for entry.
Office/Store: Some grocery items and a good amount of RV stuff.
Facilities: Laundry was nice and worked as expected.

THE BAD:
Political Flags: Most KOAs do a better job at limiting allowed flags to American flags. Unfortunately, this KOA allowed political flags, including non-family-friendly items such as a large flag with an AR-15 saying "Try to take our guns," a "Let's Go Brandon" flag, and other similar items. Just makes for a negative environment at what should be a neutral ground for all the enjoy.

COULD BE BETTER:
I can see this KOA becoming run-down over time, if they continue allowing certain people to make the environment uncomfortable for others.

We stayed a week in December and it was pricey even for the cheaper site of $75/night. There is a major road right behind these sites that has a lot of tractor trailer and car noise. The dog park is nice, there’s a pond, laundry facilities, and pool. We would stay again if we needed to!

Like a lot KOA’s you do hear traffic but nothing unbearable. The sites are mainly pull thru and generously long. Ample space between each site. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The campground and all amenities are top notch. Laundry room immaculate. Definitely one of the nicest KOA’s we have stayed at.

This new KOA was so clean with large sites! We stayed in the standard pull-thru and it was perfect for our 45ft 5th wheel.
Large, paved streets perfect for our kids to skateboard on and walk the dog.
We tried fishing in the pond but fire ants were bad and our hook/bait kept getting caught on the pond edge.
Wish the weather was warmer b/c the pool was so beautiful. Only one shower was open so that created a long line in the evenings.
We’d love to come back to the Ft Pierce West KoA in the future!
