“35 acres of a pristine barrier island ecosystem”
Nestled among miles of beachfront development are 35 acres of a pristine barrier island ecosystem that make up the Bonnet House estate. See one of the finest orchid collections in the U.S., and catch a glimpse of playful monkeys and majestic swans.
I really enjoyed the tour today. It was, as promised, an hour and a half long. The tour guide Barbara was very knowledgeable and brooked NO argument when people wanted to chat or lollygag. HA! Her personality made the tour that much the better. The house itself is very interesting. A nice relief from the more common "fancy" homes you can tour in similar areas. The history was intriguing, and the the home simply lovely. There were a lot of birds and monkeys though. Lots. of. monkeys.
